Help with Knightsport hood

I cant figure out how the mesh and the louvers or whatever they are go on the hood. I've seen pictures of other ks hoods without the wire mesh and some with. Does anyone know exactly how to put this stuff on the hood?

Is the hood real or fake? The real one should be pretty laid out. The real one should come with mesh, rain flaps and plastic tabs that pop in to the flaps.

I have the mesh and the "flaps" also i think. They havent had the slits or whatever cut into them yet though and there arent any plastic tabs either. Its a replica, i just cant figure out how everything needs to be since i cant find any pictures. Who would paint an fd pink???

Ok for all those guys who say that the hood is an exact replica can now kiss my butt.

Tommy the real hood has slits cut in to the flaps at each of the grooves. The slits should be cut on the side of the groove that faces the front of the car.

The flaps should fit flat into the area where the mesh is. One side should be pretty flat and the other raised with the grooves. The grooves face the mesh side of the hood.

You also have to drill the holes so that you can install the flaps.

wait...whats this i hear?? a problem with a replica piece of work?? no...cant be....absolutely impossible. i thought they were "perfect replicas"!

why do you state in the topic "help with Knightsport hood", when you dont actually have a knighsport hood?? thats just like someone making the title of the thread "help with 3K hesitation" and inside the thread, asking questions on how to cure wheel hop. you should have stated replica before Knighsport. maybe it would have gotten more hits too, since nobody cares for original pieces these days.

You know what....i'm sorry JoeD. I'm sorry i didnt go out and spend $15000 on a body kit just so i could say it was authentic and so i would have zero problems with installation. I'm 20 yrs old....work 2 jobs.....go to school full time.....THATS WHY i bought a REPLICA hood you jackass. I've read your post a few times now and the only thing i can get out of it is what seems to be nothing but bullshit sarcasm coming from you. Does this help me with my question in anyway????? I didnt think so either. Why dont you go pursue your lifes ambition to become a fluffer and quit posting nonsence in my threads?

HELP WITH REPLICA KNIGHTSPORT HOOD!!!

RotaryKnight: so i have to cut those slits myself? And the mesh goes on first then the fins right? Do you have any pictures that might help me out? thanks

Red face

You might want to try JB Weld with the mesh that stuff seems to work with anything. You can get it at any hardware store.

Tommy- Check your email i sent you a bunch of pics. Hope they help.

I still think you should call whoever you got the hood from and ask why their so called perfect copy isn't what it is cracked up to be. You still have to find a way to cut all the slits in the rain flaps and might have to pay some body shot to do it so it's not all messed up.
