Help? Just found oil leak...
Finally had time to look under my car today... I have noticed a few drops of oil in the garage lately.. Well its my oil pan. Atleast thats what it looks like. The gasket sides around the pan are wet.. Also noticed a little oil around the rear turbo while under the car...
So how hard is it to replace the oil pan gasket? I am very **** about leaks.... Thanks.

Well that does not look fun! I guess I need to find someone to do it for me. Once upon I used to love this stuff, now I much rather pay someone....
Thanks jwhite94RX7 for the search. I had that site in my favorites, just did not have the time today to start looking.

I just replaced my oil pan gasket while putting in my new clutch last week... I tell you what, By yourself its a really really really crap job, with the help of a friend its not so bad, I was able to pull the motor up about 4-5 inches allowing me easier access to all the pan bolts... One thing though, be real careful when putting the bolts back in... I still dont understand this why mazda chooses to use steel bolts on an aluminum block, when it comes time to pull my motor (knock on wood) Im putting studs where every bolt is I can find...

Yea I also had a small leak at the oil filter in from the oil cooler and it was easy to fix with the motor up a little, $2 for the O-rings with my discount at mazda, I kinda like buying things from Mazda, I bought an FC Savanna GT-X Model and a Mazdaspeed Jacket while I was there too !! Weeee

fart on a friends head!!!
check the OMp as well. that o-ring could be bad. that thing is close to the oil pan and may make it look like the pan gasket is leaking.
if you do have to replace the pan gasket, dont use a gasket. youll only have to replace it again in the future. go to your local honda service department and get a tube of hondabond. coat the gasket surface (throughly cleaned) with about 3/4 tube and put it back on. let it sit DRY for 3 days. dont pour any oil back in till it cures after 3 days. 3 days. 3 days. hahaha.

Thanks guys! I will have to check it better but today it sure looked like the oil pan. Wet all the way around as best as I could tell. Also blowing back under the car. Hope it something easier.
