Urgent Help Needed - Instrument Panel

Hi I really need some help, (1992 FD3s) I have attempted to chip my cat to convert to MPH, I have taken the instrument panel out but have forgotten where the 4 12 pin plugs go back - like an idiot I did not take a diagram of where they were.

There are 4 plugs in total which are - looking from left to right:

1 x BLK 12 pin plug (which I think is somewhere on the left - not sure which one either the top diagonal or the bottom diagonal need to know which.

1 x White 12 pin plug (which I think is somewhere on the left - but need to know if this one is the top or bottom diagonal.

1 x White 12 pin plug which could either be in the centre or on the right

1 x Blk 12 pin plug which could either be in the centre or the right - if it helps this is one of two cables which look as if they are connect to each other, an somebody please tell me where they go as I need my car for the monring.

I will try to include a pic of the instrument panel from the back

They're not all 12 pin, as you can see by looking at the picture. Only two of the connectors are the same (looking at the picture, it's the left two), and it should be very obvious which goes to which when you line it up with the actual connectors behind the cluster. One will be coming from a harness on the left, one from the right.

Thanks for the info, although both the 12 pin plugs can fit to the centre plug or the right plug, I basically need to know what colour the centre plug is either black or white, can someone please help.

Have you tried to plug them in? Those connectors should be keyed so they will only plug in the proper place and proper orientation. Most OEM's don't like to leave things to chance that someone will plug stuff in crazy.

Usually, the wires are also formed to some extent that they will "want" to line up with their home.

I've pulled instrument clusters many times, and have never had a problem. I just plugged stuff back in and was good to go.

Dale is right, manufactures try to make such goof proof. I have pulled my cluster many times, but do not remember an issue. The '94 FSM sticky will refer you to the electrical manual, it will tell you plug location and color
