Help with Greddy intake fitment
Hey guys,
I just replaced my apexi power intakes for greddy airinx so i can fit the m-spec intercooler i'm getting. So i received my intakes today and switched them, little did i know it doesn't fit because of my hks bov! I've posted some picture below and circled the parts that doesn't fit right. How can i make this work? Your help is much appreciated

Initial fd3s,
The only way to have the Airinx and the HKS bov is to have the bov sit forward of the intake. This isn't really a good position for the bov's functionality, but the HKS won't fit anywhere else with the GReddy intakes. Incidentally the GReddy Type-S fits with the Airinx intakes.
[I've since replaced my SSQ with the Type-S. Due to the amount of boost I'm running, the HKS SSQ was just too insanely loud, so this is something you may want to consider if you plan on raising the boost.]
Below is an OLD picture of a setup I had a long time ago, showing how the Type-S fits without any part of the bov itself rubbing the suspension tower or hitting the hood.
If you want to keep the HKS coming off the y-pipe flange, you're going to have to have it mounted somewhere in front of the intakes.

It looks like that one nipple is hitting the BOV. If that's the case, cut that nipple off and weld a patch over it to seal it shut. If you don't weld, a local welding place should be able to do that for just a few bucks.

Thanks alot juicyjosh, very helpful but i'm thinking about mounting the hks bov to the greddy elbow since i dont really want to replace it with the greddy type s. Any one know how much mouting the hks bov to the elbow would cost around?

Ok guys i'm not sure about the process but so far i think that i'm suppose to extend the hoses that attached to the bov and then weld a hks bov flange on either the elbow or intercooler pipe and hook it up. Anyone have done this before or knows how its done let me know and whats the difference in welding it onto the elbow or the pipe ?

Ok so i just ordered my bov flange and m spec intercooler and i'm planing on welding the flange on the bottom intercooler pipe (where you cant see it) and blocking off both holes and eliminate the stock bov. What do you people think and as for blocking off the holes what do you use to cap it off ?

You can fit the HKS SSQ BOV with this intake without putting it way in front of the filters. I just bought a new hose that was slightly longer; allowing the bov to protrude out from the bottom of the hard pipes. Additionally, I had to slightly turn the BOV to its side in order for the hood to shut properly. In the end it rested perfectly.
