If you think you're ultimately going to put a lighter flywheel on, go ahead and do it while you're in there.

I have an SR motorsports 9.5lb flywheel and am VERY happy I made the switch from stock.
I believe exedy also offers a clutch/flywheel combo

sorry to bring this back to life...but does anyone know if the stock automatic counterweight will work with an ACT flywheel? IM doing the swap and i have a ACT heavy duty S/S clutch and was looking at the XACT prolite 9.8lb flywheel. My only question is will the counterweight i have work since i read in my "search" that it might not be compatible.

thanks

^ Yep I believe the stock automatic counterweight will work with that flywheel.

I'm just curious how long does the flywheel surface hold up? I have a bonez 11lb flywheel that has a replaceable friction surface. Just wondering how long that would last? Thanks.

I have the Racing Beat 9.5lb flywheel with a replaceable friction disc, I love it. Not sure on the longevity but I'd say that is purely driver based.... I think the SRmotorsports and possibly the Bonez flywheels are the same as the Racing Beat and use the same friction disc.

Some say the flywheels under 12lbs are not very streetable but I like it, the car revs so insanely free compared to stock.

i like the exedy stage 3 clutch/flywheel if u have deep pockets. street disc with a 14lb flywheel. its very nice. i heard about rumors being that under 12 its bad because u dont get the 2ndary boost for very long and if u shift slow ur rpm drops alot so u might be in primary again. i wouldnt mind hearin some more info on this
