Angry Help Fd Nabbing

Anyone who lives in Arizona, Texas, Nevada, Cali or anywhere in that area please let me know if you come across some amazing deals on FD parts

My R-1 was stolen recently. It was red and had many mods...most noticable of which would be a pettit engine, pettit turbos, and an SR ultimate radiator. All basically new.

I know its a long shot, but if anyone comes across anything let me know id appriciate it greatly

Question stolen cars

Just curious- How many on forum have Lojac installed? I rarely leave mine in a high risk area, its usually in my garage or in a secure place at the office, but a clever car thief could make off with it quickly at the mall or some such place. A high visibility car like the FD might make an attractive target.

FD theif in AZ! I am SOOOO sorry to hear about your loss. If you are part of the club e-mail the president. If not I will e-mail him tommorow and make sure the club is notified. If you are on the big list I would suggest posting this on there also. If you have the VIN you might want to post that also. Where was it when it was stolen? Did you have an alarm?

Sorry once again... that sucks BAD!

ya man we need to form a national FD3 posse that kicks the $#@#@ out of any scumbag that steals a car. car thieves should be hung just like horse thieves in the ol' west. i would gladly help anyone who has had their FD3 stolen put some hurt on the thief if they ever found out who it was. sorry for your loss, bud.

Thanks for all the support. I figure with how few FD's there are it would be hard to pass by my parts without it going through someone on the board.

Just out of curiousity if anyone has had a wreck or thiers stolen, im wondering what my insurance will give me if its not retrieved.

I'm seriously considering LoJack, but I still have yet to do it. It's a piece of mind, but only in locations that can use it. Most major metropolitan areas can use it, but if you go rural, I think that it's untraceable (but I'm talking STRAIGHT out of my *** here...call them and find out )

To me, the first thing is an alarm...it's a quasi-active anti-theft mechanism that will help prevent it from getting stolen in the first place. LoJack only helps if the thieves are bold enough to steal it anyway Personally, I love my FD, but it's replaceable, and I'd really like to worry about other things.

the one that broke into my car a couple of months ago.
but guys i sleep at night, while my car is in the garage because
of the autolock they can hot wire it but cant get it into gear.
believe me a couple of my friends cars were found like that
at a local mall that they work at.the thiefs left it on after they hotwired
it.

My cousin (HPD Gang Task Force) says that Lojacks are useless unless you find out your car was stolen within a short time frame (and basically know what general area its in). Seems the cruiser has to home in on it, but needs to have general location to do so.

A better solution - and just a tiny bit more - is the Pagetrack2 system, which allows you to track your own car over the internet and issue commands (like ignition kill) via the internet or by 800 number. What I like about this system vs other GPS systems is that it uses Skytel's two-way paging system for communications, rather then cellular. My experience is tha page signals have better penetration into structures then do cellular...

I found it for $600 here: http://www.selfdefence.com/pagetrack2.htm Do I smell a group buy?

bump, here's alittle help

my car was broken into two days ago and i thank my alarm and the 6 hours i took to put it in so i t won't get stolen but still ended up with $600 in damages (all locks $388.46 and dr. side glass $188.88). i'm looking into that page track2 as well.

Sorry but you would be surprised at the underground network for selling car parts...you have a dumb theft if someone post that stuff on the net...really... Remember Brad B's awesome Silver FD that was stolen a few years ago...yeah they caught the guy...but most of his mods where long long gone...

FOUND

Well its better then having to buy a new one.....but......

Around 3 am last night i got the call. they found my car after the thief decided to take the radio and get in a high speed chase (apparently they had quite the problem catching him, so at least the car works )

But alas he was a poor driver and crashed. Im waiting to go find out how bad it is. Maybe ill get some new aftermarket parts out of all of this.

Thanks go out to everyone for support and expecially the AZ crew

thank god you still have your car and good luck with everything. and if the question above about insurance is directed towards me, i avoided to contact my insurance because they suck. they will try to raise my insurance and spending more money is what i want to avoid at all cost. i ahd my 2000 toyota solara stolen in jan 2001 and this will only cause them to raise or cancel my insurance.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

They did catch the guy who stole Brad's car? What happened to him? What does Brad drive now?

He (Brad) has another FD...but you dont hear about it anymore..because he wants it that way..(low key)...as for the theft his was a police informant..so they pretty much did nothing..but he got busted for something else and ended up in jail...something like that.
