Help Cat On Fire

OK i went for a short drive today come back were talkin like 4 blocks the car wont pull right. Wont acclerate in 2 gear at all just sits there at 4400rpm. Come in the garage and there smoke commin from under the car. look under the damn things on fire. so throw some water on it. I llok some more it just looks like the casing is burnt. But anyway could this be a sign of a bad cat. My car has 109K on the engine new turbo compression is fair. So i think it needs replacing would my cat make my car not run right. Or is my motor bad? Also there is a popping sound comming from the ehaust.
Any ideas what could be wrong.

No, not the Cat'

The Cat did it's job. It's a sign that something else is wrong. The Cat is burning excess fuel, so you need to figure out why the engine isn't burning it. On my Honda it ws a faulty distributor that was the cause. The Cat' looked like a bright red bbq charcoal! Anyhow, hopefully one of the guys can tell you what parts to check.

Is your airpump sending air into the cat??? Your cat could seriously be clogged.
