Ok, 93 RX7
power FC..non seq, full mods
I have new injectors, new plugs, and spark from all 4 plug wires. Car just spins and won't fire.. exhaust smells like gasoline, plugs smell of gasoline, not wet, but damp. Any ideas?

try pulling the fuel pump fuse(in engin bay front fuse box). Start the car let it run for a few seconds...turn off...put fuse back in start again.

Try the unflood procedure, I am not too sure how well this works with the PFC vs. stock ECU though. The stock ECU has an unflood ability built in.
Floor the accelerator to the floor before turning the key, once you have it floored turn the car over and let it spin w/o starting.. keep your foot on the gas the whole time for about 10 seconds or so, do this twice. Doing this will prevent the injectors from firing..
Now try and start the car normally, it sounds to me like you are flooded.

Sounds like your car is flooded. Just do the normal unflood procedure (Search has a lot of results for unflooding) and buy a new set of plugs.
If your car sits around flooded, gas will foul up your new plugs very quickly...get some new ones, or maybe try using your old ones that arent totally fouled up. did all this happen after you put in that stuff?
Check the connections from the spark plug /to the s.p. wire/ to the coil. Make sure they're seated properly

brand new engine by the way with around 600 miles on it... all the connections are good, car isn't really flooded, the plugs aren't soaked, or anything. i'm gonna try the ATF...

Try the ATF, worked for me...except my car WAS flooded. Wouldn't start for about a week, it would turn and turn and turn and...well you get it.

I put new (used) coil packs in the car and changed the plug wires just in case, the coil packs are fuctional, they came off my buddies car, and the car still spins and spins..
The voltage on the PFC reads 12.0v, then drops to 9.0v when starting (dont' know if that matters)
SO, now its got new plugs, wires, coil packs, injectors, its a NEW engine, and it still just spins and spins. The exhaust still smells like gasoline and yes the fuel pump is new also, i'm running a walbro. This straight driving me nuts and i need my car running.. please someone, anyone?!

I feel for you man, my engine keeps going around and around in circles. I worked on mines for about 8 hours today, I checked all the fuel, battery, fuses and everything and still no luck.

BTW: Is your ecu throwing any codes?

I dont remember reading it in the post.... who did your engine? is it a reman or did you do it yourself. Just for grins you might want to do a compression test to verify accurate compression. I know its a new engine but cant hurt to verify....
Oh. I remember reading this awhile back in another thread. Have you made sure your crank angle sensor is set properly? I am assuming that if it’s thrown off too many degrees you are going to miss your compression and ignition which would just soak your plugs and flood the engine. I have never had experience with it, but logically speaking it sounds like it could be a problem

It may or may not be the problem, however since you have been around the block with other diagnostics, this may be an issue
BTW, what ECU are you using?
BUMP - Anyone have more experience with the CAS' than I do that can help out!
EDIT: Power FC, I see that now.

the cas isn't adjustable mechanically, as i thought before, the cas is set by the key on the eccentric shaft and pulley hub.
EDIT= also noticed that the alternator pulley is wobbling when i start it, it is on tight, possibly my alternator is f'ed up?

According to some posts I have read you can retard the timing (TDC) w/the crank angle sensor. (one of the threads I posted said you could with a magnet to match the ignition system) I dont know how extensive your mods are, but if you have the stock ECU can you replace and try that? see if the stock maps help correct the situation (being sure that you wont fry the new engine of course)
