help with boost issue VIDEO
EDIT: whoah, ok, it looks like to had a pretty big boost spike right at the very end of that video
yeah i know its pretty bad i dont have much room in there let alone a decent cam. if its a bad turbo thats fine cause its under warrenty soo oh well. i am going to check some the intake tubes and vaccume lines in the morning.
but just to clarify it jumps to 8 second turbo comes on line and drops to six and spikes back up to 8 then drops to 5 when i put the clutch in and let it idle down. unless the gauge isnt calibrated or something but i have no clue.

PS. Your idle looks okay to me.
alright i found a line that was unpluged and boost peaked at 9 however when i get in 3rd gear boost drops to 5 spikes and drops and holds at 5. any ideas? is the precontrol valve the likely culprit?

I don't think you need a new turbo.
I'd check the lines going to the waste gate and precontrol.
Could be that they have expanded and the pill inside is no longer restricting the flow enough to keep boost up.

alright so tonight i went and made a few jaunts and here is what happend.
first one from a secon gear roll at about 35kph max boost was 6. through the top of third.
second run was 2nd gear again but at about 50kph boost spiked 9 dropped to 8 and held 9 again. and that was going through middle of 4th.
third run same thing as the 2nd.
so could the first run be from starting in too low of a gear? and could the missing 1 psi be from a small exhaust leak. btw after finding the one vacuum line undone now it idles on initial start up at 1300 then drops after a few seconds to about 720 and holds but tries to idle at around 650 but cant so it jumps back to 720. and the vaccum gauge reads -.6 to -.7 at idle where as before it was -.5/-.6.

one more thing when i give a little blip of the throttle while not in gear it sounds like i have a little air escaping on the drivers side (rhd so your pass side.) any idea on what that could be? i can here it but i havent looked in there yet to find it.

you need to pull the UIM and look at the vacuum lines that are coming out form the interior side, of the LIM, there are 4 of them in a row
Trace all 4 of these lines and look for cracks / loose vacuum lines, replace all of them if that has not already been done --- I do not remember which one it is specifically but one should be running to a metal vacuum line I believe, if this is loose or vented it will cause the boost pattern your video shows. I had the exact same boost pattern when I still had twins just after having the car tuned for higher boost and it popped the line off and caused your boost pattern to occur.

I am betting $5.00 it is the first hard pipe pictured above as guess. And yes, as evilrotor already mentioned, the second hard pipe that is not connected to anything on either end is there for god knows why. Fix the disconnected hard pipe located under the UIM, I feel like it runs to the turbo pre control solenoid --- I am working on a paper right now otherwise I'd bust out a diagram and tell you exactly where it runs to.
And... you are still running the OEM vacuum lines, I would advise buying a silicone hose kit (there is one for sale on the 3rd gen section) and going over the entire vacuum system. It will save you a lot of headaches like this one in the long run.

I have no idea about it reading bar but that would make sense. but it doesnt have .5 it has 5 and 10. but how do you tell? i could check then. (i am new to this import turbo stuff, came from ls1's and terminators.) but i am buying a new smic/and a g reddy intake so 140 bucks for some vaccum lines is kinda low on my priority list, although i would def love to swap them out when i take the manifold off to do plugs wires.
CHINOFLYER is CORRECT. like a dumbass i really didnt look too much at the gauge and sure as crap there is a decimal befor the numbers. but on the bright side pushing 12lbs stock is pretty good right?

Well, stock boost pattern is generally 10-8-10, then dropping to 8 psi in the higher rpm (this depends on the car).
So, 12psi is more than stock.
It's okay for primary boost to be that high, but you have to make sure you're not creeping too much past 10psi once you're in sequential mode, because you'll hit fuel cut at 10.7psi @ 6000 rpm.

My money is on you are getting boost creep and the stock ecu is retarding timing to save your engine, I was getting this for a year and changed everything except the ecu (doh
) trying to solve it. Get a pfc get it mapped and its a solid 0.9bar all the way into the redline.
I made 306hp @ 0.8bar and 290 lb/ft on a near stock motor with 99twins and a catback (safe map as injectors were at 90% at 0.9bar) .
