Can anyone tell me if a Apex i Power FC go bad?

I bought my car and I did a single turbo converstion and I was told by the owner of the shop who was doing the converstion I needed a engine management, he told me to get the PFC so I bought it, LONG story....... Now the owner of the shop sd its done and he was gonna tune the car with a MOTECH and put maps in the ECU but he sd that there was issues that the car will not rev pass 4500rpms. He sd that it was the ECU he sd that it was old serial number is 000075, Then he told me that he put his friends PFC in and it ran fine? Im really confuesed??? I need help....

yea... im lost too, sounds like the car might be in limp mode tho

and oh... if the owner, who I am assuming is the one that is supposed to be tuning your car is unable to resolve this issue on his own, I sure as hell would not trust him to be tuning your car.

you would be better off just downloading a map from somone on this forum that has a similar setup until you can get it to somone that knows what they are doing. If you need to get your hands on a map, give steve khan a call, I'm sure he could work something out with you.

Im really sorry.... ok well I bought this car from Cail.... BONE stock, I decided to go single turbo. Paul (owner) from Power Extream sd he will charge me at first 3800.00 for the kit and install. The kit included T67 Garett turbo, HKS 44mm waste gate single mainfold and custom Sparco 4in FMIC with pipes,and 4in down pipe( that the time I thought it was a smoken deal. WOW I was so wrong) I all I would have to provide was the 1600cc secondary and Engine management. I gave him all the money to start on it and he sd that it would take 2 weeks. Well 2 weeks took 2 years. This guy stright up ripped me off.... I first gave 1000.00 then I gave a a motor for credit 1500.00 then I paid for the custom 4 in exshast and the injectors and a walbro fuel pump (which he lost) 900.00 then 1500.00 bc he was suppose to hook me up with a front bumper and he sd that he had to do extra work? I gave that to him. Then he sd that engine harness was bad I gave him 1000.00 for a new one and installed ( that didnt happend he sd he fixed the old one instead ) So I gave him that and now he (Paul) he was ready to tune the car and the PFC (I bought used off a fellow mbr here) is bad? He sd it is throwing a 076 code and the car will not rev pass 4500rpms? I just paid him another 380.00 today to get the car out of there not running!!!!

I pre paid a local body shop to paint the car back in Jan when Paul sd it would be done. Pual sd he had no more room at his shop so I had to take it out his shop and send out the PFC to see what was wrong with it and when I get it back he will tune the car.... Sorry for the confusion guys I know Im rambling its just Im so **** I really think I want to just nevermind that bad thoughts...... lol.... at this point all I can do is laugh.

Well I found out there was nothing wrong with the PFC it was the wiring Paul (the owner of Power Extreme motorsports) FUCKED up all the wiring! Everything was all cut up.... I will post pics up..... WOW I got screwed bad.... oh wells thats what I get for not knowing about this cars and just being lazy not wanted to get my hands dirty, its all my fault..... Dang I feel like a lil girl crying and complaning about this.... Sorry guys just need to vent....

Anyways I took the PFC to another guy that tunes nothing but RX7s. We put the PFC into a 94 base with almost the same set up but he had 1300cc injectors and walbro fuel pump smaller turbo (think it was a T60-1) but it ran good. Ceser the guy that was tuneing it has been doing this for over 22 years and he sd that he has NEVER seen anything this bad for the price I paid!

Sounds like he did the same thing to your wiring harness that this one shop did to my car's wiring harness while the previous owner owned the FD. I didn't want to have to deal with electrical problems of any sort so I had a new wiring harness installed. Sucks that you were waiting so long and got screwed in the end.

No way is this your fault. Not everyone has the interest or the time to work on their car. This shop owner and you had an agreement, you held up on your end, he needs to hold up his. You are in a tight spot, I don't know if I would trust that guy to finish the job.

Thanks guys... well I took the car out of there yesterday(Power Extreme) and the car is in a better shop! The guy who is working on my car is a very honest guy, He sd that he feels for me so he sd he will not charge me I just have to work on the car myself of couse he will be there to show me what to do. He will tune it for free! Glad to see there are still honest people in the world!!!!!! The new set up will be crazy, Im still gonna have the same turbo kit but with a crazy custom fuel rail ( 1600 secondarys and 850 pramarys ) In a row.... I will post pics. Cesar has been doing this for over 22 years.... I cant wait

I a AVP for AZ State CU and I talked to our lawyer and by law I really cant do anything about it. It will not even go into abrtiation. Its all small claims court and when I win that case, I cant garnish his wadges hes not employed with anyone the only way to get my money back is if he sells his house or property and I know he doesnt have either of that! I basically paid 6300.00 for a T67 kit that I could have put together myself for less then 1500.00..... Oh wells Ill just keep on truckin!!!! lol.....

I dont know man, that is what he told me... ? All I know is that Carma is a bitch and Im sure he will get his..... Talking to local guys I guess Im not the frist this has happened too.....
