No resin. Go to Jegs.com or probably any racing parts supplier. Thermotec makes a tape, impregnated with something. You dip it in water to soften it and wrap the pipe. As Jonski said, you need to clamp the loose ends of it because it does not harden. The 50 foot roll of 2" wide will cover the downpipe and if you are single turbo, the exhaust manifold

Sorry to bring this back, but i have some pictures to share of my setup.

I took the turbos off to do a non-seq and wanted to have the iron sand-blasted, then i put the turbos back together and wraped the turbo very well. Both sections the bottom manifold that connects to the motor and the turbos them self. Then wraped the dp.

All i have to say is DAM, you can place your hand on the turbos for a few secs after a run and it is really not putting out that much heat, compaired to the stock heat sheald.










Also i was getting a little wrap happy and did the bottom of the coil box and the coil that is hanging over the motor. Maybe will help keep them cooler. Worth a shot.

Can, aluminum foil and cans

Here is what I have done. The down pipe is 4 years old. Put the tape down, spray with high temp paint untill saturated, let dry, use a layer of foil that has been folded to a two inch strip and wrap it just like the tape then use coke cans. This will keep the water out and will give the tape some legs. At the the top of the down pipe ( two inches or so) just use just the tape. old racing trick from the 60's when we raced in dirt a lot.

That's actually a very effective technique, no laughing needed.

Unless you would prefer to pay money for aluminum sheet and cut it into can-sized pieces.

The thing I like about the can wrap is that the fiberglass is sorta contained, so that you could work on or near the exhaust without getting fiberglass fibers in your clothing, eyes, and skin.
