Yes, the heater/dryer ducting works 'ok', but doing it right would be to create a plastic duct to go into that area (which is what I was referring to).

The problem with the ducting is that the passage becomes restricted in places you don't want it to because it's not as flexible as you would like. While it can work, it's not ideal.
