Heat Shield

Guys... I am dying to get one of these heat shields that Damian posted awhile back, it's the best looking one I've seen and I just can't get one. Can ANYBODY have one of these made or something?! Thanks! ~A-Rod

Personally, I don't see the point. IMO, either buy a CAI or just use open filters. Anyhoo, just buy some sheet metal, print out the PDF and make one. The instructions are on the PDF.

I'm using the HKS RS intake(one of the hottest intakes, from what I've read), so I'd like to cut down on temps at least a little bit. And I don't have sheet metal, I have nothing to cut it with, and even if I attempted to do it, my deformed creation would NOT look like that.

I'm sure there is a store nearby where you can buy scrap metal sheets for next to nothing. In my area there is store called Metal By The Foot, and they sell their scraps for just a few bucks:

You might use Infospace.com to look up local metal shops and see if they sell scraps. Then just go to Sears or Westlake and pick up some metal shears.

Yeah I saw a few of them, but they're kind of jagged and ugly, I really didn't like them all that much. Hoping anyone can make this?

Sometimes even if it isn't "great" it's still "cool" because you made it.

Well I've seen some of the things people make for their cars, and let me tell you, it's definitely not cool lol

Maybe I'll see if some of my more experienced buddies can help me out with this.

Get one of the pettit pieces and clean it up, sand it down, polish it, paint it, etc.
