You need to post alot more info..
How warm does your coolant gauge show?
Is the light on straight away from startup?

If it's doing it from startup and you are sure the cats not heating up or you don't have a cat, you need to find the wire that comes through the shift tunnel and join the 2 wires together. If the heat sensor has been cut the light will be on.

Where will the wire be exactly? Is it hanging around the gearbox or inside the car under the gearstick panels (colour of cores if you know)? My aftermarket exhaust has no connector/sensor going to it and the dash light has just come on when the car is started and wont go off.
Cheers for any help guys
