Headlight problems.. Please help!

Well I bought a HID kit and put it in and everything went fine.. but I realized the lights were not the color I ordered (purple) I then left my car for a bit then came back and turned on the lights.. they were purple then they slowly faded to white. Could my headlights be underpowered? or my grounds bad?

From what i've seen most HID kits seem to 'warm up' a little.
HIDs are actually so bright that your eyes have trouble telling the colors apart and in the end they all appear to be a blueish white color.

12000k is waaaaaaaaay too dim for a driving light. That's not any brigther than a standard halogen bulb. It mught be dimmer than stock.

Try getting a 6500k bulb. 6500k still isn't great, but it's a hell of a lot better than 12000k.

here's a pic from autodoodad's GB.

1st your light rating is way way to high, 12k has the same or worst output then halogen lights. also what your lights are doing is basically "warming" up, the ballast charge the bulb to ignite it but does not need that much power to run it so it slowly goes down.

possible options

we had a simillar problem be bought 2 sets a cheap set and it did the same thing we ordered the 300 dollar set and sure enough it did the same thing..its like they listed before its the stage before warming up and running that they change color..also ive been told "depending on the quality of the gas in the bulb the colors will almost all turn to white right away..it will have a slight shade of the color" in your case purple,it probably showed it at first but now its not a full true shade.its white..

i've seen them on a friends car and they are really really purple..

like this:

they are purple for a second when I turn on my lights then they go to white.. and i've got many people to look at them and they know for a fact that it is white... is there any way I can fix them to make them purple? please and thanks.. btw I don't drive this car, slowly making its way to a show car.
