Has anyone tried this Headlight Kit? If so can you post some pics and opinions?

Thanks in advance,

ive never used those lights. I did buy a "knock off" set of lights for my subaru. 1 week later they melted and ebay seller said too bad. So ive learned to buy BRAND NAME stuff at least when it comes to cars. not saying the same will happen to you....just telling you my opinion.

Their are alot of threads on these specific headlights, havent heard anything about them melting but they arent to much better performance wise compared to stock. Plus stock headlights look 1000x better.

mark57 had them on his car and went back to stock.

I have the Evo-R sleek kit and am very happy with it... I should add that I also have some McCulloch HID's (6k bulbs) that were a nice upgrade.

I bought a similar set for a subaru WRX about a year ago now, the lights look identical, just the plastic is of different shape. The whole hi beam, lo beam thing is screwd up. Hi beam light on the gauge cluster is on all the time, when the switch is in low beam lights are very bright like hi beam. when swich is in hi beam the lights are very dull like DRL. I still cant figure out what's wrong. I had an electician look at it and he told me that I need an extra set of relays for the lights to work properly. However I can't say anything about the fittment, it's nearly perfect, that's why I gave up and kept the lights.

I, personnly would not buy them again, I was looking at these lights a while ago for my rx7 and just decieded to keep the stock ones. I asked the seller how hi/lo beam work and if there were any relays that I had to buy, the response I got was something like "we do not install the lights, we just sell them, I do not know how they work" I respect the honesty but that wasn't the answer I was looking for. However it's your call.

Your kit looks great. The main reason why the E-bay kit caught my eye is the price. Where did you get your Evo-R sleek kit @?

Thanks,

personally, i dont think they look that bad. if you want more pics of the kit on my fd pm me or have a look at the thread at the top of this section that shows members fds, its one of the last few pages.

they much brighter than the standard lights and tbh the only reason i bought them was because when i first bought my fd i was driving it home from the guys house and the drivers side light cover started to wobble up and down whilst i was on the motorway (freeway) and then it just took off, i turned around off the next junction and went back and pulled over and then played chicken on the road to get my scratched to hell light cover back (lucky it hadnt been run over!)

the thign with the flip lights on the fd is that when down the car looks amazing, pretty much one of the best looking cars in the world (especially for the price of them!) BUT with the headlights up, well it just spoils them i think. go on guys. flame me all you want

i'll just put the pics up cuz the pic of the lights not on the car doesnt do them any justice and people will just rip it out of me!

when i got them out of the box before i fitted them i was dubious, but now theyre on, people just stare at the car and dont know what it is cuz they say rx7s have flip lights and that one doesnt. theyre well made, not like some of the real shockers ive seen and the halo's (like the m3s have - wired up to the sidelights) grab loads of attention.

I like them a lot. I ordered mine from yahoo auctions. Fitment is best done by body shop as i had to skim of some material to allow proper recess. In a couple of months i'll be done retrofitting HID's on the outer units and the inner light will be converted to an air intake.

I'm not a big fan of these, main reason being they stick up over the hood. I have a friend with the carbon ones and they look pretty good with his carbon hood. I'm not a big fan of the Evo R kit either, lights are too small and the foglights used for the kit looks cheesy. Just my opinion guys.

And here I thought that Japanese lettering on windshields went out of style back in the 90s.

I am having a lot of trouble finding a C-West Kit. If I can't find one soon, I will be going with the EVO-R kit.

The thing I like most about the C-West kit is the fact that the cover is removable via 4 screws. That way I can adjust or tinker with them.
