having problems with fan mod

I am attempting the miata thermo switch fan mod on my fd. I followed the advice I scavenged on the forum, but now I am a bit confused. I bought the part number I found posted for the Miata thermo switch. I took the sensor with the green plug going into it off. I thought that was the thermo switch. but the threading OD is way to small for the part I bought. juist below and the driver side however, is a PART THAT appears to match the new one I bought. It had a single wire black plug going into it, and uses a 17mm wrench. the green one was a 19mm I think.

Anyway, which one of these is the sensor I need to change. anyone have a pic of it?

The green one with two wires is the ECU's water temp sender. The one wire sender is the one you want.
