have you ever beat a mustang?
I was just wondering If any of you have beaten a mustang GT or porshe in a race. I dont own an Rx7 but I heard stories that they are fast. But I really doubt they could beat a new mustang GT...since I own one..hehe. Any let me know what kind of cars you have raced and I dont mean just hondas!

I've raced a Stang' GT from a roll (50-130) and seemed to pull quite well on him. Dunno if he gave up or not, bc it was only one go (also dunno if he was stock or not, but its pretty safe to say he was). I tend to not race as much as i used to bc of a recent accident that caused my insurance to skyrocket out the ***.
hehe, this thread is just aching to get sent into the kills section after a few more posts

Anyway stock for stock, all Mustang GT's have tested slower than stock FD's including yours. From supercars.net, your 260hp GT is rated at 5.9s 0-60 and 14.5 in the 1/4. See it HERE They have the FD listed at 4.9/13.5 for comparison.
Your car is rated at just 5 more hp but weighs a whopping 400+ pounds more. Looks like even stock Honda S2000's could outrun you

This guy sounds like a former Honda Civic Ricer who just bought a faster car.
In any case, litltokyo2, why don't you try to drive fast down a nice curved road and we will see who sits in the ditch. Remember, FORD = Found on Road Dead
and Ford has junk Quality. I had a 91 5.0 and I had to change the Radiator overflow after 25K miles, then at 30K miles, the Radiator. Don't forget about the new 2002 Explorer and it's pedal that falls out....He he...like I said, found on road dead.

I own both a 94 FD, and a 2001 GT. The FD is faster... hands down. Good top end pull on the GT, but the only way you'll lose is if you mess up your launch with the FD... or your FD is not running properly.

I can't believe I even read this!!!! The GT's are getting better every year but it still doesnt compare to an FD(stock). Ive raced plenty of GT's enough to know not to race 1 unless its modded. GT's can hang for the first 4 sec but after that its all car lengths!!!!

I punched it with a newer 911 Turbo in my stock FD and at about 70 mph he was leaving me behind on the highway like I was just cruising and not even racing. It is sad to see a car walk away that quick when you have the pedal all the way to the floor, But it was cool to get a old guy and his lady to show me what his porsche could do. god I want one.

You can not ask such a question here and gain respect... of course we beat Mustangs... again and again!
It comes to a point where you even refuse to race them cause it's a waste of gas.
I have beaten a 2000 Porshe Carrerra, non-turbo though, on the track. By track I mean solo racing. The guy even managed to spin his electronically controlled Porsche, it WS raining though... but I didn't spin mine I guess maybe the driver sucked so maybe he could've stayed with me but oh well... I beat him

I think the n/a FC3S, when well tuned, is a good match for a mustang GT. My FD will DESTROY a stock or mildly modified GT. I should be in the high 200's, or low 300 hp range, so there's no way that a car that ways 400 lbs. more will walk away from me...
...maybe I should also mention that my interior is GUTTED...the carpeting is HEAVY

mustangs....can be easily beat, the most fun beating them is in an old school rotary like an rx2 or rx3....most of them dont even know what the hell just beat them, and they will race light after light, get beat light after light...just because they cant believe a car they dont even know what it is has just whooped them. !!!

Ford = F***er Only Runs Downhill
or, if you put it backwards:
Ford = Driver Returns On Foot
Uneducated public opinion on the rotary. Everybody and their brother says that rotaries are crap. It's a shame to see someone make such blatant remarks about something they have no experience (or knowledge for that matter) with. I have NEVER had ANY problems with my FD, even with 90,000 + miles on it on the original motor!!!!! (knock on wood )
Just remember, guy, it is better to be rotary than to pist-on!

RX7 = Extension of the driver
Mustang = Extension of the *****
I've had the pleasure of driving a 98 Saleen Cobra for the last month while my FC is broken (thanks Barry! ) and while yes it is an AWESOME car my TII would dust it any time anywhere...

Actually, I forgot to mention this funny story. I told everyone that I had a 5.0 back in the early 90's. Now one of my cars is an FD. In any case, I remember about 8 or 9 years ago, I was driving around in my 5.0 (slightly mod) and I came across a 1st Generation RX7. I said to myself, I'll walk him easily. We came to a light and when it turned green, we took off. I got the jump the first 2 seconds and then he walked me without looking back. Man, to this date, I said, holy crap.....what the heck kind of engine did he have underneath there.....now I know and why do you think I have an FD.....heee....true story!
