Have slide under jack where is a good place to lift the car from underneath?

Where is a good place you can place a Car Jack underneath our cars? I have a friend that has a jack that slides under and has a rod that you attatch to it and go up and down like pumping water from a water well, anyway where is a good spot to lift the car from?

Under the diff in the rear, and in front of the oil pan on the subframe in the front. My car is too low to get the jack under it in front, but I just use the stock jack to lift one side and then slide the big jack under to lift from the subframe in the middle. Be sure to use jack stands if you will be working under the car.

Sometimes I do what Max does, and sometimes I use some 2x12 boards as "pre-ramps" to either (i) get up on my ramps, or (ii) get the jack under the car.
