I run it just fine, but I don't have a rex. I saw everything they advertised and am very happy with it as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know if it's good for it or not, but I run it in my 94 touring. I figure that if people run mobil 1 or royal purple that amsoil would be fine. The only reson I'm running synthetic is for my turbos, but everything seems to run fine. I've been running Amsoil 10w30 for the last 3 changes. So far so good.

AMSOIL is very good by test and experance. Garfinkle has used it in his 7s since 1982. It is in his 94 and he uses the 2 cycle oil to the oil metering pump. Amcoil has many good products .

I've been running it for 10K miles... no problems yet. I still change it at the regular interval. Atkins Rotary uses Amsoil and recommends it. As for ash residue when the engine burns the oils... check out this study: http://www.vtr.org/maintain/oil-overview.html
The table lists most motor oils and percentage of ash residue left when the oil is burned.

93TTRX7 - Do you mind if I ask where you can get it dirt cheap? I use Amsoil in all my vehicles (love their synthetic ATF especially), but it is a bit pricey to buy. I ran Amsoil oil in my rx-7 from 13,000 to 88,000 miles without any problems, original motor and original turbos. Now I'm rebuilding the whole car, and I'll switch the motor over to Amsoil right after break-in.

Sign up for their preferred customer program. Amsoil If you have a couple friends in your area using their oil it is worth your while. About 20% off. I don't know if this matches 'dirt cheap' but it's nothing to sneeze at if you use a lot of oil.

always liked it, felt smoothest and quick revving of all the synthetics by my highly calibrated butt dyno. the un-mktg could have sold me though...

Is it true that once you run amsoil you can't run any other oil ever again?

Oh and my buddy owns a shop here and he gives it to me for wholesale price

I don't think that's true. You can use any brand of oil and use a different one later.
Good deal you got there man.

Amsoil is probably one of the better synthetic oils but only by a small margin maybe in racing conditions. You might not feel any differance compared to others except in youre lighter wallet, basically all synthetics are good.

I used their gear oil and i loved it, much better than redline. When i went down to seven stock i asked racing beat why they stopped selling amsoil they said that they decided to sell royal purple instead because it was a better oil. Thats what they said, but dont know if thats the real reason.
