Has anyone replaced a hood-release cable before? I finally decided to just replace mines... but the shop manuals on RX-7 club don't have any guides. Does anyone have any tips/procedures on how to do it?

 

I have done it and it's easy. The cable runs from the hood latch, around the side of the battery, over the fender and into the firewall. Removing the battery makes it easier. After that disconnecting each end is obvious an the rubber grommet in the firewall pops out. I removed/replaced mine in just over 30 mins.

 

What is the PN for the cable, and how much does it cost? Do dealerships usually stock this part?

thanks for the help, I was sure that it wasn't going to be very hard. I ordered mine from the local dealership ! it was $20.93 with tax.
