Has anyone ran without a Thermostat

I know that without a thermostat it would take longer to warm up but to me the coolant would flow better without a thermostat? If it flows better than it should cool better. Right????

If it flows so fast that it can't dissipate enough heat in the radiator, how is that good?
I have a gutted one I will put back on this summer when it is a gagillion degrees out. I ran it for a while in the fall, but it took forever to warm up. Now, you go and do some research and figure out why taking forever to warm up is bad

One other thing....not sure if it's mentioned in the thread I linked to above, but there is also a passage used during warm-up that allows coolant to by-pass the radiator. With NO thermostat, this passage stays open ALL the time.
