Thinking of running Defi BFs but not sure if this will work. I know I have seen one of the pods with some 60mm's test fitted in and they looked like crap.

Has anyone done this? Pics?

rich sorry to go off topic but whats the story with your car? is it fully tuned? are u still running Bnr's? last time i heard you were shooting for 400rwhp! whats the deal?

I am moving onto new BNRs, which are completely different from the old style. New rotating assembly with 20% thicker shafts, left-hand thread compressor nuts, etc. The only holdover parts are the center housing and the compressor housings, all of which are extensively machined to fit the larger compressors and turbines. If memory serves the exducer on the compressors is 5mm larger than stock.

I made 376 at 15psi on the old BNRs. I was pretty confident I was making 400 to the ground on the street at 17psi. Regardless, numbers are just numbers. At this point I want an FD that will stay on the road for awhile, and make reliable power.

Rich, you're better off contacting Frank (flyrx7) and having him make a custom pod for you. He sometimes has 60mm sitting around, so you may not even have to wait. I've got the triple 50mm pod, it's well built, almost looks OEM.

By coincidence, I happen to install Frank's pod (3 52mm's) yesterday. (It had been sitting with my gauges in my "to do" pile for almost a year now )

I'd say it's better-than-OEM quality -- a true work of art.

I just put my Apexi EL guages in a 60mm Flyrx7 pod. Looks awesome! Frank can does great work and the price is not bad. See his website for pics and prices. You may have line in front of you though.

Lt Farrell, I installed 2 60 mm gauges in the center gauge pod Gotham sold me. Had to dremmel it out carefully, however, things fit well. I'll send pics if you like. PM me

wow franks pods look nice, they curve down ergonamically on each seperate pod. i wish i knew about this before, the 60mms seem to be on back order though.

Those are some before and after shots of the Gauges. I need to give some credit, Dubulup actually did this for me. He did an amazing job and pays a ton of attention to detail.

I can't explain how pleased I am with it. I also can't believed I was using the PFC to measure boost. the PFC would read a max of .84, boost gauge was 1 bar on the button. I was considering getting new turbos. With the addition of the gauge, I am able to tune out some of the hesitations and more accurately watch any spiking and creeping. This saved me the coin of going single or new twins.

Secondly, the last pic of where the data links go is a little inconvenient. However, I have yet to hit them while shifting and I have the piece of mind that I know nothing is going to short out and the wiring is done correctly.

I had on 1 occasion had my fuel pump short and I lost fuel pressure (Thank goodness for the P/H warning gauges).

I'll try to take some more detailed pictures. There were many that said 60mm gauges can't fit in the dual center pod. It is EXTREMELY tight. In fact, we dremmeled out the center of the pod. There is also a SMALL area at the top left of the EGT gauge where the pod doesn't meet the gauge. It is hardly noticeable and probably could have been avoided with some more accurate and slow dremmeling.

The white faced cluster gauges make the car look much newer also. Not to mention everything matches more closely, day and night.

looks good, so do you know how he routed the wires for the center pod? Did he have to pull the radio to get to the wires?

No, that is not needed. I am also a centerpod user. what I did was straighten out a hanger, use it to gently reach the footwell area, then tape the wires to the hanger and pull it out.

There is tons of room behind the radio/center console to route stuff.

I just laid under the driver's dash, fed the cables through speaker hole w/left hand, crammed right arm through mess of cables under dash, grabbed and pulled... and my arms have the cuts to prove it. It helps to have a bit of light shining down the speaker hole and straightened cables.

k cool, so not too difficult, you route the sensors thru the a/c opening? steering shaft opening? or main wiring harness opening? on the firewall....
