Angry God damn 5th syncro

So while the engine is out i decided i want my syncro fixed. So i called Ray Crowe and ordered the syncro and select spindle.

Tore the tranny partially apart, and my luck the hub was gone too. Called Ray again and ordered the hub.

Finished taking the thing apart today and w00t my 5th gears teeth are gone too. Called Ray once again, it will be here monday.

Anyone else have this trouble with their syncro replacement?

oh and thank god for Ray, (although he is on vacation this week)

That's some bad luck with your 5th gear. When I replaced mine the only thing worn out was the synchro itself.
If the teeth are gone on your 5th gear I'd be concerned with the bits o' gear floating around and damaging the rest of your tranny internals.

So you ordered a new 5th set? Both gears? Make sure you put the snap ring inside your new 5th if it doesn't come with it! Easy to overlook that part. I believe it is labelled as #24 on page J-18 of the service manual.
