Angry Has anyone had a shock/strut leak fluid after jacking up their car??? Mine just did

~ Tokicho Illuminas & M2 Coil Overs

Like the the title says, I jacked up my FD tonight to install my Feed-like sideskirts and right after I jacked the driver's side I noticed an oily fluid pooling up underneath my rear tire. It looks like the fluid is dripping from my shock. The shock was fully extended. Did the shock just blow a seal? The passenger side was fine. No drips.

Don't Tokicho's have a lifetime guarantee? Has anyone dealt with them regarding a warranty replacement?

THIS SUCKS!#@# It seems like everything on my car is failing at once!

My Pillow-***** are shot...
My Differential bushings are toast...

Damnit! Just shoot me.

I just needed to vent

I had a Tokico fail after a few months of installation. Fluid dumped out of it for about 1wk...

OTOH maybe your car was telling you sideskirts suck?

I've seen the exact same thing; had a Tokico on the rear of a friend's car fail once. We jacked the car up and it just began hissing and spewing green oil everywhere. It cracked at the weld between the lower bracket and the shock body.

Yup, lifetime warrenty for the original purchaser. Hmmm, I bought my car with Tokico's..... This is the first time I've heard of them failing. Do they crap out for alot of people??

Thanks for the replies guys. I just drove the car to work this morning and the shock is definitly toast. I can feel that the left rear is really soft. ****! Well I have to change out my pillowballs anyway, now I just have to find a new/used replacement.

And TurboJeff, I'm normally anti-body kits. except that I wanted to cover up my "jacked-up" jacking rails and I also wanted the something to match the 99 lip.

I just bought a used set of Tokico's w/ some H&R springs for $220 from a local FD guy. I swapped out the blown rear strut. Things are back to normal.

I just talked to the warranty guy at Tokico. He is going to replace BOTH rear struts since I have over 60K miles on them. Sweet! I love it when warranties pay off!

My front left Tokico blew out after about a month after they were installed. This seems to be a common problem. I dunno know, maybe a bad batch. It just gives me an excuse to go to coilovers.
