has anyone done this headlight conversion??

hey guys...has anyone (im sure they have) gone to the CW style headlight conversion where you had to splice the headlight wires into the new headlights??...it sounds pretty easy...but im just wondering how it went for others because i am thinking about getting them...and if they are a good fit or what

I have the C West lights on my car. Fitment is not exactly perfect but it is good enough. No gaps but the front of the headlight is not sitting flush with the front bumper. As for wiring I wouldn't advise you to do it yourself unless you are a trained electrician. I got my mechanic to do it and I got a headache just looking at him do it. A lot of rewiring to be done and not forgetting it is a 10 year old car, it was natural somethings broke while installing the kit. Get a good workshop to do it. Console yourself on the price, I bought mine for around US$1600 a year back when there weren't any knock offs and I had to order direct from Japan

so that price is w/o the lights...anyone know what the lights cost? I think I'd go with the Rotary extreme since they'd be about the same price once you purchase the lights. I think the c-west looks a touch cheesy

Either way, the lights are cheap and project light horribly. The Catz lights would probably work a lot better, I've heard however that the lights have been discontinued.

It says "C-Wings® Carbon CW Catz Headlights W/O Catz". So, that looks like no lights.

If you really are an electrician, wiring should be the least of your worries.

EDIT: DOH! Jim already on it.

Does anyone have first hand experience with these knock offs? Do they compare the C-West in term of look and fitment?

Hmmm, if you buy them on ebay, they are cheaper and come with lights.

Those, however are not Catz lights! They are some very cheap auto store brand lights, which I imagine would making lighting even worse.

You can probably find some supplies that still have the lights in stock or might be able to purchase some of ebay. Catz NA did close shop however Catz lights are still made and widely available in both Europe and Japan. You might be able to contact Jt-Imports to get a set.

Yep, they basically give you the cheap ricey lights you can buy at kragens or another autoparts store. The lighting ends up being worse then stock!
