Has anyone bought an Engine from the RX7store?

Just wondering if anyone has gone to the Store to get an engine, vs. going to many of the other places. I heard that the Store also goes through Pineapple. Just wondering both. Always thinking ahead for the single.

They installed my KDR/Malloy motor 18 months/18000 miles ago. B/C of the shortage of remans, they're currently rebuilding rotary engines in-house. Mine's getting overhauled from a chipped front rotor chamber apex seal failure.

Oh good...that gives me more time to put off paying for the rebuild LOL...Seriously I hope the rebuild is going well.

Check your email about swapping out the underdrive main pulley and re-installing the larger stock main pulley for maximum water pump flow rates. You might need to source the stock main pulley bolts. I couldn't find them in my attic.

Check the vacuum chamber (whether it was full of oil or not). I rigged the vacuum chamber with 2 black/green check valves in series, plus a gravity loop to keep oil from getting into the vacuum chamber and screwing up my secondary turbo response!

Lastly, remove that strip of foam under the FMIC core, and engine undertray. It was probably a mistake for me to seal that up, since the rad core wasn't getting any cooling air with the FMIC core sealed up against the engine undertray.

I'm liking mine just fine! I should be posting some Dyno graphs (2 different Dynos) and track slips next week!

is it safe to say that if it lasted a year/12K miles that it will last the normal run of a rotary?(50-75K miles) if tuned correctly. i know its bad for me to even assume something like this, but just thought id ask

I has always been my understanding (based strictly on 25+ years of hearsay) that almost any halfway decent rebuild can last 12K. But that it is not a sure thing that it will last 12001 - it depends mostly on the condition of the reused parts.

Do you know if its a 1 year warranty under 12K or under 12K with like a 2 year or so?

The warranty is based more off mileage than years. I know there a lot of people that wouldnt put 12k miles on their 7 in five years. Its really depends on the situation and the reason the motor blew.
