Happy One-Year Anniversary and a few low mileage maintenance questions
First off, I would like to report after one year of ownership I am still in disbelief that she sits in my garage. After TWO long years of searching for a replacement, I lucked up and came across her. It is so stock in every way that I catch myself laughing as I’m ripping it apart.
YES, I’ve searched but only came up w/threads talking about complete storage nothing about taking care of a weekend/summer car.
I don’t see myself putting a lot of miles on the car so I wanted to get advice on the best way to handle a weekend ride which will see less than 200 miles a year. I have only put 70 miles on it in a year I know, I know but I just don’t have a lot of time to drive it. My last TWO 7’s were daily drivers and things were much simpler.
1994 Chaste White (less than 200 shipped to US)
· RED seats and carpet (only offered in 94 and I have not found ONE person with one, hel_ I can’t even find people that have seen one. I asked all the big time shops and Ray @ Malloy because I thought it was fake but it was an option)
· Glass sunroof (rare option)
· Bose system (no missing or broken ***** and it works PERFECTLY)
· STOCK EVERYTHING right down to the pre-cat and catback (hel_, I have never even seen a pre-cat Lol)
· 63,898 original miles on the original engine (no rebuilds)
· One owner female car
Seeing this gaint get out of the car was HILARIOUS!

Nice car. Mine has about the same mileage. Just make sure you change the fluids once every few years. I would NOT start tearing anything apart as long as things are working properly. I would replace the AST. Of course, you may never drive it long enough for the car to warm up

great looking car, fyi there were more than 200 CW FDs shipped to the US in 94, however there was 203 CW PEP cars, is that what you meant?
white/red is one of my favorite combos, there's a few other documented cars with this configuration.
as for storing her, make sure you at least drive her around the block with some regularity so the tires don't get bulges, add some fuel stabilizer.
I know Aaron's site is mostly dedicated to 2nd gens, but his storage info is good for our cars as well.

Yes I actually meant 1994 Chaste White PEP w/5-speed transmissions and then I am still THREE OFF.
Popular Equipment Package - Manual Transmission
Silver Stone 74
Montego Blue 323
Brilliant Black 150
Vintage Red 159
Chaste White 203
Pearly White 1
If there are a few other cars with my color combination I would LOVE to see them but so far I've ONLY SEEN ONE! It would be nice to know that I'm not on an island by myself lol. I started a tread trying to get a count of all the 1994 Chaste White color combinations but I was the ONLY one w/a pic of the red interior hummm BUT I'm not looking for a "rare combination" discussion just some simple advice on what other people are doing to properly maintain a low usage Rx-7.

I read through the storage site before I posted. There is no mention of maintaining a weekend/once a month car. I checked on the fuel stabilizer but it seems the court is still out on that one.

Not to burst any bubble but the white/red combo isn't a collector model or some proverbial unicorn your making it out to be. Its just a bunch of mismatched options. We really only received one model that could be considered as a "collectors item" in the future.

Lol don't get all sensative, best color is purely subjective and we know what your favorite is. Its common knowledge (even stated by Mazda) that the only "special edition" models are the CYMs, so that would make it the only model most collectors would pay top dollar for.

For the THIRD time I'm not trying to make this into a "rare option" thread, which is why I asked him to post in a different thread. Since you brought it up what model do you see being a collector item. The only model that comes to mind is an R2.
I found more than I was looking for, I just wanted a 94 cw pep w/black interior, Bose, glass roof and a 5speed. It took me almost 2 years to find one for sale and I have ZERO plans on ever selling this one.
Any advice on maintaining it while keeping the miles low?

Wow lots of fragile feelings in here I'm not going to get dragged into an internet pissing contest over whos "rarer" because its complete ridiculous. I'll add something constructive to this just so you can keep your post alive.
The general maintenance things should be done(oil, plugs, wires, fuel filter, brake parts) also do a once over of the turbo controls stuff if your boost patterns aren't correct. Lastly would be to check your ppf and suspension bushings. Its not uncommon to need to replace your rear pillow ***** at that mileage.
Just for he record, I enjoy my "silly" yellow car very much.

Thank you for being a bigger man than me and giving me some feedback. Maybe I was wrong about the yellow lol.
My plans are to replace the bushings, shocks, pads, and all the normal items. I'm just wondering the best way to maintain it since I'm only going to be driving it about 20 miles a month.

No pissing contest here. I have to agree I think our colors are great. I'll post some pics when I Can but my car is not in the best of shape. The previous owner was stupid with the way he took care of it. Only thing that could make our cars look better are the spirit r seats.
