Car VIN is FD3S-405713, so it should not be 16bit.
In a mean time I only have a picture of a previous owner where the unit is left
and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to be right unit

So I need advice on figuring out right part number for ABS computer.
FD01-67-650 - standard ABS computer
What I found is units with FD31-67-650 and F132-67-650 part numbers, both units have same bosch connectors. Which one is right?

Well I'm not sure on that one. The VIN pulls up a Type-RS (not RZ).
Also, the parts catalog shows that came has a FD31-67-650 computer. I'm not sure sure about the other part numbers you listed, however, that computer looks like the right one.

I did confirm that the FD31-67-650 p/n is in fact on the RZ model for H7 years.

Thanks a bunch! I hope that I have right unit, but will have to wait for a week to clear that out.
It seems that there is no big deal to integrate it in to 94 harness - the one I will be using it in 97 car.
Last owner mentioned that brakes were really impressive and better than his Tommi Makinen edition EVO.

The FD31-67-650 ABS Processor is the same part number as the '95 USDM car

Parts designed specifically for for '99 and later models would start as F138 or greater; so the F132- processsor is pre 1999.

On a 2nd note, where did you get the electronic catalogs; even mazdaspeed motorsports developments on-line catalogs are not like tthat.

sensors were interchangable '95s USDM cars went from F04/05 to F123 to F146 sensors as listed above

you may want to try these '95 Us brackets before mirroring the JDM's they look almost the reverse of yours

FD31-43-310 BRACKET NO 1,A.B.S. $66.38 list $39.82
FD31-43-320A BRACKET NO 2, A.B.S. $34.75 list $20.84
FD31-43-867A INSULATOR $29.36 list $17.61

Also it looks like mazda ran the same brake lines from front to back whether a US or JDM car. So to simpliy install we could buy JDM 2nd main body line and rear fittings to connect to rear wheel hard lines and then just fab a new line from main line junction over to ABS pump.

Thats an awesome find! I did check the '94+ ABS Pump Bracket (FD31-43-310) and looks like it might actually work - I even compared it (visually) with the JSpecs bracket I have from my pumps. Looks like I'll be ordering 43-310 and 43-868 on monday.

This is the #1 reason why I wanted more people involved from the start.

using the version III-IV rear and an early front with no diagnostics has been a troubled path at this end.

If you trace the main rear-brake line from the back of the car towards the front, you'll notice it stopping / connecting to a joint-fitting along the firewall mid-way next to the trans tunnel.

what would be interesting is to run two of those lines (side by side). giving us two rear brake lines and much less lines to custom-bend which equals less money & time spent.

My thoughts/questions this far are:
- will the '94+ ABS Pump lower bracket fit the upper JSpec ABS Pump bracket?
- USDM wheel sensors cause issue? doubtful as the 16bit ecu had more than one sensor
- can running a second rear-brake line aid in supplying fluid to the rear brake?

So if my thoughts are correct - this could be done rather painless and cheaper than originally thought.

1) I to was thinking to double up the front to back brake line and use JDM F146 joints in back to join left and right lines

2) used '95 F32 lines across firewall, '95 Pump has similar port locations as '99 just need to double up another line to bring back to pump, should just be minor bending of lines near new pup

3) sensors is NOT an issue, I noticed that in US FD04's were first given F123 ('96 JDM) as an alternative, now F146 ('99 JDM's) are an alternative for '94, '95 and on CPU's. They are all same price, they must fit the same and function the same.

I enclose pdf of a spread sheet that I had started years ago to correlate P/N's

I like the idea of using second brake line to the rear end.
What about F100-43-85X line joint?

What do you mean rear end? FD132 ABS computer on series 3?

As of now I have two ways in my project:
- going completely 94, while leaving 97 brake booster and big brakes.
- going with series8 ABS computer, ABS pump modifying electrical harness as hwnd did (I do believe he did it right way), adding and fixing second brake line under car, (have two laying around) connecting both under car lines to rear brake lines separately, making custom brake lines under the hood, and fixing ABS pump.

The extra three wires from the ABS Control Unit, where do they go to?; I see from the photos of the 4-channel pump that valves have gone from 3 to 6, since it takes one signal wire to control each value I assume that these are what the three wires are for but what do they plug into? Is that the third connector pigtail from the pump unit and if so where can we get the connecting mate?

From the Bosch site I note that they only sell in minimum lot sizes of 3000, has anyone found a single unit supplier of the ABS Control Pin connector.

Can anyone post the 4-channel wiring diagram with pin callouts?

Found there are some incompatibilities between 91~early 94 front body harness and the post 7/94 rear floor harness - leading to the ABS ECU.....if you stay with the FD31-67-650 ECU, in a RHD situation - which I expect is similar in LHD, but... . Can't comment on the later installation.

Here's the local version of early FD01/03 v later FD31 ECU with diagnostics, which eventually makes it way to the engine bay box.

As well as the hardcopy parts manuals, saw panel beating, dealer CD parts discs and possibly more pertinent to your request, what appeared to be technical manuals on the auctions last week - which might be worth a search, language shouldn't present a barrier on the diagrams at least.

I used the images to compare against my findings... glad to say i didnt have any changes to make.

I do have a few 2001 FD rear harnesses as well as the main body harness,etc.. not required for the swap but were extremely valuable for verifying information.

Well that just answered many of my electrical questions plus raised new questions. If that is an FD31 Control Unit (spec'd in US '95's), it say it can control a newer 6 solenoids control pump, but I notice it still is a 3-Ch but now uses two solenoids per channel and AV and EV solenoid on each. The FD132 Unit alos shows 6 solenoids so ?? AV/EV on front wheels and back to single solenoid for each rear wheel.

I am not sure I will be sticking with FD31 control unit as it was ment for 3-way system and I don't think it should be used for 4-way conversion, F132 said to be reprogramed and 4-way abs control unit.

By the way found a company here in Lithuania selling original Bosch parts, price quote for 1928402198 is 40$

I found a good description of the Bosch EBD ABS system in this link:

http://sorento.kia-club.ru/Repair_ma...0ABS%205.3.pdf

Now after getting over the Hyundai logo; the presentaion explains where EBD controls differ from ABS; it alos raises more questions. "X" crossed brake lines line pre ABS days, this will make plumbing a little more complex (we need to '99 + parts diagrams) and need for an Acceleratmeter; did Mazda put it in the CPU box or is it monuted outside in cable path (we need '99 wiring diagrams)

Folks anyone able to offer ABS system documents for a ’99 or later model, Japanese language least of problems:
1) FSM or Wiring Diagram shot of system harness
2) Parts manual diagrams of brake lines front to back, control unit, pump unit and hydraulics
3) A luxury, FSM complete section on ABS system
4) Part Number listing for all brake system parts, front to back.

I just hung up with Ray Crowe, seems the ABS Pump bracket is on back-order and needs a VIN. So if you place an order, be sure to remind Ray about the VIN reqs on the bracket.

I dont have the parts cat in front of me but I dont think there was an option for more than one ABS Pump bracket for a '95 model. Just some friendly FYI.
