gutting the cat... huh?

Taking a stab at what it means... cutting all the honey combed shaped stuff out of the cat? if so, where/how can this be done? And is it basically the same outcome of running with just a midpipe?
Just wondering and trying to save myself a few $ and a ticket for no cat

i thought the cat converter was pretty expensive, like 1k, i'd just get a midpipe and save the cat.

the advantage of gutting a cat is that people think u actually have a working catalyc converter on your car. If you don't care or maybe the emissions stuff isnt very tough in your area, just get a midpipe

Nope, it's not exactly the same. Even with it gutted, it won't flow the same. They also aren't the same diameter.

I think I might go with the midpipe, and when emissions comes, swap the catback on...

That reminds me.... anyone have a midpipe for sale?

I cant wait to here the backfiring

Go home and grab your cat. Go get a knife from the kitchen and commence disembowelment.

i just gutted my precat and main cat. what a pain in the ***. you have to cut the side of the cat off to get to all the honycomb and then weld it back together. time consuming but cheaper than a downpipe and a midpipe.
