Gutless through 1st gear?

Unsure if this is normal behaviour or not-
In a nutshell, it feels as though there is very little or no boost in 1st gear, however, it pulls like a train through 2nd gear and up.

It's my first rotary, so i'm not sure if it's a quirk of the motor, or if i've got some sort of vaccum leak...

I was thinking it may have had something to do with the lack of load through 1st gear... your thoughts?

I guess the issue is that the car actually feel like it accelerates quicker through 2nd gear than 1st gear; it's a very odd sensation.

I haven't had a chance to install a boost gauge as yet.... but reading it through first gear would be difficult anyway.

If everything is working correctly you should be through 1st (tires spinning or not) pretty quickly and not much sensation of pull, you don't mention any boost readings so we'll assume no gauge and this alone makes determining if there is even an issue.
