Gurgling sound.. ?

Sorry I haven't had time to search with school starting and all.. But I've noticed that every time I start to push on the gas I hear a "gurgling" or "sloshing" sound from the passenger front. I hear it kind of slosh backwards when I accelerate, but I can hear it if I just push the gas down in neutral. Any ideas on what this could be?

Mike

Have you tried checking your coolant level? I'm almost certain its low because if it was full you would not hear the coolant sloshing back and forth. You shouldn't really hear a gurling sound until after you've shut off the engine.

Also try burping out the air pockets in your coolant system as well.

Start with those two things and see what happens.

That is probably the sound of air moving in the heater core, so another vote for "burping."

My car always makes a sound after I shut her off. Its hard to describe the sound but its definately coming from behind the air pump/filler cap area. It is NOT a boiling/bubbling sound, so if you get this sound you definately need to check your coolant level.

I asked this same question to a guy who had a near new 2002 FD and believe it or not, his car made this same sound and I was told it was 'normal'.
