gun metal...repaint???

what's an average price for a repaint??? removing parts of the engine to paint car scares me...i don't trust anyone except KDR to even open the hood of my car...am i being over protective? i do agree with doing everything else right...removing doors and trunk...

.....i have a 93 VR (with 99 front end) and i was thinking about changing the color to the new gun metal grey...and leaving just the engine bay red...and painting brake calipers red to match... what do you think???

does anyone have pics of painted cars with different engine bay colors???

i went from vr to silver w/o painting the engine bay and trust me, you will begin to hate it. When you open your hood to show your mods, it sucks. Save money in the long run and paint the entire car all at once. I am waiting til i blow my motor to repaint the car when it's pulled.

yeah especially red. if you had a bb you were repainting to gray, it would be a different story.

a complete paint job is fairly expensive these days, try doing as much of the prep work yourself and you can save quite a bit of money...as far as a complete color change, I've been quoted anywhere from 2500 to 4000 depending on paint...I'm kinda diggin the orange spice mica on the mazdaspeed protege

Im sure you have capable shops in Philly. You just need to ask around. Talk to tthe guys you see with 50's rods and **** like that. Those guys should be able to point you in the right direction. Just ask the paint guys how they plan on doing it. You should ne able to get a feel for the guys commitment to his work. You what to find someone who loves to paint cars.

Thanks but the point Im trying to make is only that if you get your car painted. Make sure that you get the engine bay and extra done as well. And the Engine does not have to come out to do so.
