In the game the car is excellent, but obviously handles differently than it does in real life. The game does not have enough variables that affect handling and acceleration. I guess you can say that GT is not 'real' enough. Great game though.

 

btw its GT3, GTA is grand theft auto

 

YES SURE A PILE OF POLYGONS CONTROLLED BY AN ANALOG VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER ON A TV SCREEN HANDLES IDENTICALLY TO A REAL PILE OF METAL, GLASS, AND PLASTIC CONTROLLED BY A STEERING WHEEL AND SOME FEET.

Would you let an 8 year old who's played GT3 over and over and is a great driver drive your car under the assumption that the two behave the same? What kind of stupid *** question are you asking??? It's a video game!!!

 

I THINK THAT THE GRANDE TOURISIMO GAME IS MUCH LIKE THE REAL WORLD BUT CEPT HAS NO RAIN AND THUS CANNOT BE DIRECTLY COMPARED TO THE REAL LIFE YOU TALK ABOUT MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO DRIVE ONE AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT BUT DON'T THINK YOU CAN DRIVE IT LIKE IN THE GAME BECAUSE IT'S NOT EXACTLY THE SAME YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN BECAUSE IF YOU GO OUT AND TRY TO DRIFT DOWN MAIN STREET YOU'LL SPIN AND CRASH~!

hehe screw that its a good post just it makes some people feel good when they flame, dont worry man it pisses me off that u cant get an rx without a spoiler in gt3 but if u want a game for cosmetics buy tokyo extreme racer zero. body kits paint decals and such

 

the only aspect of gt3 that i wish was better was engine characteristics. there is no turbo lag, engines seem to create the same hp throughout the entire rpm range and so on. i was reading the other day about gt4. it said that sony is gonna try for extreme physics perfection this time, in which they said the engine for the game will be about 5 times the size of gt3.

 

sup members i own two fd's and i was just seeing how poeple compared the cars on the game i needed a interesting post seeing how most of them are F/S OR WTB post just puting in somthing diffrent

uhhhh gt3 does have wet tracks... ss5 is wet for last 2 rally series and the last of the japan series professional if i can remember correctly.

well gt3 is the closest your going to get to the real thing,
but it'll never be perfect until they devote 100% of their time to matching the game to a full cockpit with steering wheel and pedals.

A big thing about the FD experience is how the steering is setup, and how the cockpit fits "like a glove"

holding a little plastic controller in your hand doesnt quite cut it.

 

I would say that the handling is 'similar' but that comparison is relative since you can't really feel anything from behind a tv monitor.

As far as how realistic the engine is...all the cars seem to have a pretty smooth/similar powerband.

d00d i can bust mad tyte drifts in gt3. but when i try in real life i wind up crashing... if my car had a video game controller i'd be a kuh-rezzy drifter d00!

 

lol ..word me to drifting is tight but the skyline 34gtr i got to 1076hp love it but the fd just still feels better then any other car even with 706hp with would be nice in real time is it possible for that hp for both cars in reality

 

and the LM rx7 has some where around 965hp. its one of my favorite cars in the the game

 

yeah the lm rx7, its the blue one right? at least thats the color of mine. i love it. although... if i just need to beat races quickly i use my f09s. the super licensce is hard to get. how in the hell do you get it? oh and the 787b is also quite a nice car

 

I know this is really old school, but did anyone ever get the FD in Metropolis Street Racer? I was so excited when I finally got it, but it was hard as **** to control in that game. So I just went back to using the Evo 6. :p

 

I think GT3 misses the most important aspect of driving an FD3...the countless $$$/hours you spend keeping it running!

 

you know what game is really tight? Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero = my favorite ps2 game. i'm addicted

 

i got both games and i like gt3 better....maybe because i beat tokyo already.
