Arrow The Groundzero LIM installed on my car. :)

Ok, last night I finished the Groundzero/Xcessive motorsports LIM install. It can be a bit tricky, if you threw out the directions like me. first of all, you have to port match the LIM to the gaskets. This is no big deal, and I maybe spent 15 min. Also if you're running the stock fuel rail, you have to do some grinding on it to make it clear the LIM. You also have to remove the factory bracket that connects the coil bracket and the UIM. You gotta ditch it. As some of you know this is a equal lenght manifold so this makes the entire UIM sit further forward also. This has some pros and cons. The pros are it makes the back of the engine more easy to play with. So its a little easier to get to the Oil filter, rear fuel injector clip, tps, etc. I also have my huge fuel filter sitting in there, so this realy opens up alot of room. I realy like that it opens up alot of room back there. It'll be much easier to get to the top tranny bolts and stuff. The cons are that it makes the factory throttle linkage hit the oil filler neck. The filler neck just takes a bit of modification, and thats fixed also. Also, if your IC piping is like mine, it'll have to be modified slighly. I've been thinking about going to a Greedy elbo and changing my IC to TB piping anyways. This just now give me a reason to do it. The SR stage 2 clears the LIM with plenty of room BTW.

I did change the location of the fuel regulator vacuum line to the UIM. I don't know if this will affect fuel pressure much or not. Once everything was hooked up, the car fired right up. I did have to changed some of the fuel injector settings via the datalogit as Ralph instructed me to do. (Ralph tunes around the factory LIM and I just had to equal out the settings.) With the factory LIM, Ralph and I tuned the car for a 10.8-11.2 in boost. With the new LIM I lifted when the LM-1 whent to 11.8. I know that that lean of a a/f ratio is'nt going to hurt anything, but I don't feel like pushing it. As of this friday I have a dyno app. made with Ralph. I'm not shooting for huge numbers by anymeans, so I'd like to keep it under 15psi. Last time on the dyno the car put down 394rwhp@16psi with low lead 100 on Ralphs Mustang dyno. Anouther thing I've changed was the turbo to the IC, piping. Instead of being a 3" pipe with a sharp bend, its now a 2.5" with a more gental bend. Will this hurt or help? I dunno. But I'll keep everyone posted. Maybe later, I'll post my old dyno sheet.

I realy want to thank Ralph once again for all his help. Ralph is freakin' awesome, and I'm looking forward to seeing more products from him. If any of you guys have any questions feel free to ask. Later, CJ

BTW, this is not a LIM for the guys who are still running the stock style twins. While this job is farily easy, I'd expect to spend a couple hours doing the slight modifications I listed.

how much did it move the UIM forward? will you have to change the IC piping or should it just bend a little to make room?

As you guys can see, it moves it a bit forward. My IC piping had to be changed, and I could'nt bend it that far. But like I said, I plan putting on a Greedy elbo, and changing the end tank of the IC, so that its a straight path. No kinks or anything like that. CJ

Well, my next little job will to be to remove the oil metering system. That should take out a vacuum line or two. Then remount the Profec B somewhere else.

If you look in the 2nd picture, you'll notice a shiny thing with a nut on to of it. Thats the new oil filler cap. Well, its a temporary thing until I can find some time to make a filler neck thats out of aluminum, and won't hit the throttle linkage.

Ralph said you could simply cut a pie shaped peice out of the neck, about 1/2" then heat it up, and push it together, then melt it back together....but I wanted to do something custom, and did'nt have the time. My wife and I are in the process of selling our house (allready sold.) and buying 18 acres with a house and a couple realy nice shops on it. So time and $$ are short at this moment. I'm just lucky that I'm getting the chance to get my car dyno tuned again.

It'll be interesting to see how this manifold spools, compared to the stock one. And of course how much more power this thing will make over the old one too. CJ

There any different shots anyone wants to see?

Any update on the power increase? I saw this product first hand the other day and was impressed. Ralph told me it helps out mid range a lot and equalizes the EGT's between the rotors.
