Grounding system improves HP?

http://www.sunautomobile.com/

I've noticed on several Jap websites that ignition and extra ground cables are offered. I've seen this companies constant advertisements in SCC and was wondering....has anyone tried them or have any opinions on em?

the more grounding, the better. that is MHO. i have a a few extra ones on my car. i upgraded the factory ones with, i think, 4 guage, and 8 in a couple places. the first place to start os the one off of the back of the engine that bolts into the firewall by the abs lines. but whoooo am i, most people already do that one...

I keep seening that same ad too but I am not sure how much they add h/p thru ground's I am always trying to find out more info from them but the # I call keep on ringing. Also I did 1 good braided 4 wire to my car and my stumbble stop or can it be my secondary butterfly when I removed it? I don't know yet but when I get some extra cash to send out my UIM to get jet hot I will leave that secondary fly on and do a test. sorry for this to be so long.

I would just buy your own stereo gauge wires, and run all the grounds you can, and I bet it will come out cheaper than buying that 'kit'.

5 times? 5 tiems as in 5 times the thickness of the current ground straps or 5 additional ground cables?

I'd really like to know WHERE these ground cables would be attached, too.

I've seen the ads in Japanese mags

I beleive RE-Amamiya sells a kit but i've also seen a kit made by Splitfire (also in a Japanese mag'). I've tried looking for it on their website but no mention of it. I haven't called them yet. Could it be they only sell to the Japanese market? I figured Splitfire would have to be way cheaper than the RE version.

Come on guys... increase hp by adding grounds? Maybe like a 0.0001% gain. Although adding grounds can never be a bad thing.

I bought the HyperGround system for my SR and i did notice a lil(very lil) better respoce and also when i can to a stop my idle didn't drop as low before it leveled off.

HKS has it's Cirlce Earth grounding...and though I'm usually a big HKS ***** the Hyper Ground system does work better. The HKS one is pretty much an octopus branching off of the negative terminal.

The Hyper Ground links all your grounding points in the engine bay and transmission.

Depends on the resistance of the wires... but with low res. wires, and a good ground, you'd have more potential difference than before, coupled with lower resistance, means higher amperage, or better spark. Out of the plenty of sparks that you get each time you drive, I'd say the grounding couldn't hurt.

I made my own (of course) for about $25.00 with grounds from the negative battery terminal to the front and sidewall of the body, alternator, intake, and two to the firewall. Made with common multi-strand 4 and 10 gauge copper wire and terminals, soldered, swaged and shrink tubed for a finished look, held in place with black nylon wire ties. I buffed the attachment points down to bare metal wth my Dremel.

Results: Reduced 3K stumble by 90%, absolutely no "rotary rock" at idle. I think the engine feels smoother. More horsepower? I doubt it. - but my sex life has improved dramatically and my dandruff is gone.

Oh, as per the description on your site "The "Hyper Ground System" uses thick gauge 99.99% pure copper,
and connects directly from the cylinder head and other points...."
I'd like to know exactly WHERE on the cylinder head do the wires connect to

Cylinder heads or no heads, at $0.00, it's a steal! GB anyone?

I think it 'frees' up hp, rather then makes it.

Hey Jason,

I tired locating the Hyperground system at the RX-7 store, but I couldn't find it.

What is your price on it? Any colors?

I think that the HyperGround system would be good for cars who may have trouble starting. When I swapped my engine, I had one HELL of a time starting the car, so I took some extra 2 gauge wire laying around(doesn't EVERYONE have it laying around their house) and commensed to GROUNDING!

Now my car has no problems starting!
