Ground Strap: Will this work

Ok, I can't help but notice that some of you have this nice phatt gorund strap that's about an inch wide and braded. We have this spool of this braded wire they use for stuff here at work but I was wondering if it could be used for a ground strap. It's a little over 0.5" wide and just as thick as the penny.

Also, how would I terminate the ends?

We use that for ground straps at work. There are special ends for it if you want them, but you should be able to fold / roll it and stuff it into a car stereo type power terminal and crimp it good. Get them at your local stereo shop or Best Buy. I just used car stereo ground cable anyway.

Go to summitracing.com, they sell Taylor Ground Strap just like yours but with terminal ends that you can bolt to with a 10mm bolt for $5.00.

I bought 2. One for the ground strap and one for the FI strap near the firewall.

I know I could probably buy it somewhere but I want to be able to say "I actually made something for my FD" (something that's not ghetto) the cabe here is free, all I have to do is find a way to terminate the ends.

Your image no workie.

Garfinkle makes straps from welding cable. To answer the question ,he makes the ends , out of steel thin wall tubing . He flatten one end and brazes a proper size ss flat washer on the end . Then drills through the washer into the flat tubeing. Each end is made to fit the bolt or stud as needed . He then solders the cable in the round end of the end . Then it is sand blasted ( the metal end only ) , shrink tubing is used if he has it to cover the joint .
