grey smoke and hesitation
My first week as an FD owner has not been fun. I have a couple friends with FDs so I'm pretty familiar with them. I think I have a decent idea of what my problems could be and I've scoured through the forums and FSM but I want to get your input. I purchased the car last sunday, had 200 miles on new Mazda reman, rebuilt turbos, etc. I drove it home and immediately took the turbo assembly apart because it had an exhaust leak between the manifold and turbo that needed fixing. After I got everything together the car ran like complete crap, like one rotor wasn't firing, blueish grey smoke coming out the exhaust, very rough shaking at idle. Replaced spark plugs since they were completely fouled out and it idled much better, but there is still greyish fuel related smoke and some backfiring at idle, nothing like the shaking that it was. I haven't checked compression, mostly because I don't want to have to replace the motor since I just bought the freaking car, but I will do it tomorrow hopefully. What are your opinions? Thanks in advance.
