car revs on its own?

My car is reving on its own as if I'm blipping throttle, but I'm not.
It all started when I up graded the intercooler?
sometimes it runs and idles perfectly fine and then there is times when it just starts reving by itself from 750 to 2500 rpms and then drops back to 750.

any ideas

thanks

Not sure, but make sure all the hoses are tight.

vacuum leak

Yeah i had this same problem with a few of the cars i have owned, It is most likely a vacuum leak, check all gaskets and hoses that you changed or touched when you installed your intercooler and make sure they arent leaking, reused gaskets tend to leak but im not sure if you did or did not reuse one.

Check the little pin on ur Throttle body. If it backed out it would do that. Mine did that just not that bad

Could have knocked the TPS also.. although if you were doing an intercooler you weren't really working near the TPS..
