Greddy profec B spec 2 people

Am I the only person out there that is having a problem holding boost? I have my wastegate ported on my BNR turbos, but no matter what the settings are it still creeps. If I turn the boost controller off which is supposed to be 7 psi, it will stil creep up to probally 12 or so. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

I've been spiking, but not creeping..

Set it to 50% or so, and it'll spike to 1.20 or so, but hold 1.10, maybe drop to 1.08 till redline.

Guess I need to adjust the gain.

50%??!! If I set mind to 50% who knows what kind of numbers I would be getting. Did you take that little plastic cap out of the open hole in the stepper motor?

I set my low boost to 36% and gain to 5%, set gain to .20.

That usually yields a constant .80 or .85 bar.

High boost I set to 52% (cause of ignition breakup down to 50% ) With same gain and set gain values.

But this is causing me to spike around 1.2 bar. I hold around 1.10

Dunno.. Gotham installed it for me as I bought it at the same time as the motor.

scrub, if you're still creeping with the controller off (and it's been installed correctly), then it sounds like the wastegate isn't ported enough?

for ~10-11 psi my duty cycle is set to around 37%, with 0 gain

cavellm, you might want to turn your gain down a little to see if that reduces the spiking.

the hose from the front hole goes to the wastegate actuator, and the hose on the left goes to the turbo.

If my wastegate isn't ported enough im going to be kind of pissed seeing as that would make it the 3rd problem I've had with these F*@#ing turbos. it really sucks not being able to put the pedal down in fear that you will creep to 1.2 bar and possibly mess something up.

You've got bnr's, why wouldn't you want to go to 1.2?

Looks like you've got all the fuel mods needed to run that boost.

BTW, downed the gain from 5% to 2% and now I'm hitting 1.15 instead of 1.2. Gonna set it to 0 or 1 to see if I can just hold a steady 1.10.

When Steve was tuning, we turned it up to like 56% and HELD 1.31 bar!

Maaaaaaaaan, the car was uber fast. Too bad I can't do that all the time.

I do want it to STAY at 1.2 bar....not creep over it. I don't feel like getting a 3 bar map sensor.

as a last resort you could uninstall the profec and just hook the lines back up. that way if you're still spiking the you know for sure that your wastegate is still too restrictive.

you'd still have to unhook everything anyway right? so try it in between removing the profec and hooking up the blitz.

I don't think it's the boost controller to tell you the truth. I think that somone at BNR didn't port the wastegate either enough, or at all. So I have 2 choices.
1. Install the pop-off valve I have sitting around, which I really don't feel like doing.
2. Sell the BNR's or see if I can get a refund since I've been having so many damn problems with them (un-likely) and go single and not have to worry about boost creep again.

Number 2 I don't really have the money for, but probally would if I could get rid of these turbos, intake and Y-pipe.

Easy check...
maybe you can pull your boost controller off and run the turbos with stock vacuum line setup but missing the wastegate restrictor pill. You should only hit 7 PSI. If it still goes too high, then your wastegate is probably no ported enough or at all.

Give it a try, it'll only take you a minute.
