Greddy elbow w/ BOV and strut tower brace fitment...
Hi all, I have a strange question. I have the typical Greddy elbow BUT with a non typical Greddy BOV attached to it. I see why is not typical because it almost touches the strut tower and it makes the installation of a Strut Tower Brace a problem since they do not seem to fit without hitting the BOV.
Does anyone know of a strut tower brace that would clear that BOV? Maybe one from Greddy themselves?
I hope I can put the thumbnails here if not I am listing the Photobucket links anyway.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about strut bars that will fit, but it looks like your BOV is a lot farther forward on the elbow than any other Greddy elbow I've seen. It might be cheaper and easier to get another one that has it in the right place.

Dude, that STINKS! Whoever welded that on there was def not thinking...
It looks like it's close enough that the top of the BOV will rub against the body of the car as well. Personally, I'd get rid of it. Throw the stock elbow/piping back on there until you either fix the one there (won't be pretty) or get one that's not been messed up.

Below is a pic of the Greddy elbow with a BOV and a Strut bar installed. Sorry, it's hard to see but if you look closely, you can see a BOV on the elbow. Second picture shows how the real Greddy Elbow with flange looks.

From the pictures, it looks likes there is a different greddy bov ( the one on d cups car) then the one on your car that would fit better.
Still it might be a better idea to just get a greddy throttlebody elbow without the bov flange and mount the bov in the stock location. The only problem with that would be both the alarm and the intake you have might be in they way.

well, I know that like cusco or mazdaspeed strut braces are a lot beefier but I grabbed just a generic brace off ebay and have been satisfied with it. Resembles the OEM one more than the after market ones but it has ZERO interference with the bov.
i also wonder if it being a type-s vs a type-rs(?) bov makes a big deal about fitment

Leo, it may just be me but if you look at your pic in comparison to the ones above people posted the distance from your flange to the elbow itself is greater. The flange on the pics above are welded closer.
Not sure if this is something you can fix but it look like it could save you a bit of space if it was cut off and fixed.
I will let others say however since I know nothing really of welding matters. It could also just be an optical illusion in the pics. But I do think it would be the least expensive of the options if you could do that.

also dcup, what intake is that? it looks like the greddy/trust one that I have, except you have a different BOV than the stock one which attaches to the greddy intake,

Yes that is what is happening. The BOV was welded way to close to the end of the pipe and away from the elbow itself. I have no idea why they did that but...
As for welding it again in a different place, I think is not the best solution for me since I already have people wanting to buy mine so as soon as I can get my car back from the shop, I will see into buying another one and selling mine.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the matter.
