That's the AWS (Accelerated Warm-up System) hose.

Remove the complete AWS with a blocking plate and if still on a stock ecu, use a resistor for the ecu load.

Awhile back, I tried plugging it w/ cap but the car stalled out randomly within 5 seconds upon crank (can't have none of that). Instead, I put a mini-air breather.

I think most people use those plastic/rubber chair legs, you can get them at wal-mart for like a $2. I'm temporarily using a wheel lock nut (the cylinder one with a star key on one end), I plugged it into the hose that was attached to the oem elbow. As far as I have been able to understabd there is no pressure or vacuum in that hose/pipe, the plug is so that nothing gets inside of it.

I put my finger in there but quickly realized I had issues.

It shouldn't even function with the PFC. Unplug it from the harness and put a BOP on it. Use a bolt until you get the time.

Don't ghetto-rig your car. Take off the UIM and install two block off plates, one for the AWS solenoid/valve and one for the AWS pipe. Make sure the mating surface is clean and use a thin layer of silicone.

$10 per plate here:
