Got some error codes...

I found out i've got like five error codes

6
13
28
30
38

6 is speedo sensor, so judging from that would explain why i would have no odometer signal or what not but i should at least have rpm i figured. The others im kind of lost on what they are. One is a pressure sensor, the other is EGR, another one is split air bypass. Anyone have any idea which are going to be my biggest concerns?

welp i cleared 6, 28 and 38, but 13 and 30 are still there. What does a pressure sensor do/go? And where is the split air bypass?

Take your car to a good shop until you learn more....

Get a factory service manual (FSM), you can buy them Malloy Mazda or download a PDF version for free from www.iluvmyrx7.com

yeah i've been going back and forth with the shop manual and asking random questions, and how on earth do you think someone's going to learn more about a car? Just by reading alone? I'm sorry but these cars need hands on experiance also, like with any other automobile because there are just some things you can't learn from a book or a web page. I've put my car together, got it to this point and if it hadn't been for the fact it was A. an automatic prior and B. had a haltech in it, my ride would of been running a long, long time ago. And I had my car at a shop, the rx-7 store for a month but they weren't able to figure out the problem I was having. Mike who works there has another job that takes priority so my car would of been on the waiting list to get looked at for quite some time.

way to be an ***, man

Mestre,

Did you install block off plates or something in your car?

I wasn't being an ***....when you are having problems of the nature you're having, that background info would have been helpful!

When you ask which of those codes are worse than others, it's obvious you don't exactly know these cars inside out. That is NOT an insult! But that is why I suggested taking the car to a shop.

A Haltech uses it's own sensors and doesn't use any of the emissions equipment. The items on your code list fit that -- have you reinstalled all the stock sensors (if they were removed) and have you gotten all the sensors connected to your (new?) wiring harness?

13 = MAP sensor, the Haltech uses it's own, you must reinstall and wire up an OEM MAP sensor -- VERY big deal
28 = EGR valve, emissions, you will get the code with this removed, no big deal
30 = Split Air -- emissions/air pump related, you will get this code with this solenoid removed, no big deal except you will kill stock cats
38 = AWS - accelerated warm up system, it's been removed with the Haltech, did you replace it? no big deal

You need to provide more background info on problems like this when the car has been all hacked up previously.

sorry i was just a bit touchy especially since i did do all this work my self and trust me, i will be the first person to say i don't know the inside and out of ANYTHING when it comes to car work. And I forgot to mention I cleared the egr code and the AWS code as well, the map sensor one i'll have to deal with on my own as i've got a gm 3 bar map sensor but obviously it's not going to work. Anyways, again I apologize I just get real touchy when it comes to my car.

No problem, I understand your frustration. I certainly don't know these cars inside and out either.

You can usually pick up a used stock MAP sensor for cheap in the classifieds section, PM Fritz Flynn, he may have one lying around.

Are you trying to put the car back close to stock?

can't, not with everything I have anyways. Car has upgraded duals (stage 3 bnr's) full exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, intake, random other things that i can't think of right now either.

Things urking me because now that I FIXED the wires that were messed up, the car acts like it wants to start but it won't. It begins to crank up, spark starts to fly, but its like the spark or something gives out real soon What the hell?? Bah back to reading apparently.

while where on the topic of codes....i got 11 and a 16. i got the eleven to go away(i have an after market intake, see sig. was told that was prob the issue, havent seen it since i reset the ecu)..but the 16 seems to be intermitent. the cel will come and go..depending on the type of driving. around town driving=cel. highway. 70-80=no cel.. i know the 16 is the egr..and remember reading that it doesnt really do its job untill like 5th gear. very curious..should this be an object of concern or should i just do the egr relay by-pass?

Mestre,

Basically, most of those codes are emissions related. Since there was a Haltech in the car before, most likely those solenoids have been removed. You need to replace them with a resistor (or an actual solenoid) to remove the codes on the stock ECU.

For the resistors, 330 Ohms 1/2 watt.
