got a quick question

i just got an fd a little over a week ago and im gonna change the oil this weekend. i just need somebody to tell me how much oil i need. i know on my fc it said 5 quarts but 41/2 quarts was right at the full line on the oil dipstick. so can anybody tell me how much oil the fd is supposed to have?

3.9 quarts if its not an R1. Not sure about the r1's cus they have 2 oil coolers.

On the oil coolers do they do much good?

All FD's have a four quart system from the factory. That is unless you drain the oil coolers.

mine is a R1. so 4 quarts huh. strange i never thought it would be less than my fc.

Really? I would have assumed the R1/2 would have had a larger capacity cus of the second cooler. You learn something new every day.

Yes, total system capacity is more on the R1/R2 but the oil pan capacity will stay the same. Remember you are only replacing the oil in the pan not the entire system.
