Good Lord!!!
Good Lord!!!
OK, I finally got my car on the road, after 6 months of building it from nothing, went out, and put it's first full tank of gas in it, and now after less than 100 miles (most of which were city.... probably like 75) it has gone threw 3/4's of a tank of gas!!!! JESUS!!!! Either the guage is wrong, or somebody is steeling my gas.
Is this normal???
Is this normal???
It's got:
Blitz FMIC
Apexi intake
Koyo radiator
Pettit down pipe
Midpipe
Blitz nur-spec cat-back
removed PS/AC/air pump
Simplified vacume lines
Apexi Power-FC
Techedge 1.5 Wideband O2
X-ACT streetlight flywheel
Spec stage II clutch kit
And that's about it I believe.
The AFR's are about an 11.5 at idle, and around a 13.5-14.5 at cruise, and high 11's-low 12's under boost. (still running on Power-FC base map) It's going to be tuned Monday morning at P1 auto, so..... But they said those AFR's are pretty close.

I agree, they are close. I recently installed a techedge on FD and love it. afr's at idle can be leaned out which will help mileage around town, but cruise seems about right and may need to be richened up under boost. I recommend installing fresh plugs and wires if you are unsure when they were changed last.
I am currently getting 10ish mpg around town, but my cruise/idle AFRs are richer than yours and the car's fuel map just needs to be cleaned up. best case I would expect 15 around town and 22 at highway cruise.

If you cant find anuything physically wrong: I say fill her up again at a different gas station and take a LONG road trip.
A funny thing happened to me once about 9 years ago. I was in my truck and headed on a 150 mile road trip. I stopped and filled my gas tank somewhere along the way. A little while later I noticed that I was a had gone a 1/4 of the tank. WTF?... So I got out and checked for fuel leaks none. I got back on the road, and before the trip was over i had gone through that whole tank of gas!!! (no way my truck gets 25-28 mpg). I had to get another refill but this time my gas milage was back to normal... WTF? I figured that I got some weird gas or something as it never happened again.

Because I would rather post, get all concerned, and hopefully stop something from breaking before it does
(if there is anything wrong)...
But yeah, I'll try that once the light comes on

You also said it has been out of commission for 6 months. Could it be you're excited to have it running and have been mashing your foot in it with regularity (full boost multiple times on the way to the local grocery store? Sound familiar?)
I get 7 mpg or so on the track and almost that bad when driving around diagnosing boost issues... but better than 20 mpg hiway... go figure

I've acctually not been getting into the boost that much.... I did a couple of times... I admit it! But I drive it pretty slow because Aiken has alot of cops in a very small area...
And I'm trying to stay out of boost until it gets tuned.... I'm only 1/2 way to the cost of a rebuild right now (saving for it already.... that bad!)

A little advice. Don't drive the car with less than 1/4 tank of gas. Due to the location of fuel intake it is theorectically possible to fuel starve the engine on a high G turn, thereby causing many problems you probably can't afford.
^It fuel starves at under a 1/2 a tank! But that's good insentive for me to drive slow... kind of like a ticket stopped
Anyways I filled it up and it held just under 14 gallons, and went right around 95 or so miles (don't remember the exact milage before.) It's was getting around 7-8 MPG. I'll see what it does with this one....

Why don't you fill up the gas tank, set the trip meter to zero & drive for let's say half a tank. Stop fill up, write down how many miles traveled and divide by how many gallons of fuel you just put in. Then multiply by the capacity of the tank and tada!
