Good idea? (looking to get an FD)
Hey what's up everyone, I'm new to this board. I'm a friend of Ocelot if anyone knows him. I currently have a 5th gen Prelude, and I'm really looking for a car that's RWD, has lots of potential, and can turn into a project if I want it to. The prelude was nice, but there's not much potential at all, even if it's boosted- and that would be too much money to make it worth the effort. I've checked out this board for a while, and I think I'm up for the FD challenge if I take it slowly.
Would it be smart of me to sell the Prelude, for say, 12000, then get a used FD, that's very very close to stock spec, on a reman motor? I want to work on it, and upgrade it down the road, but I'm aware that it's a very sensitive car, and tuning is a MUST. And even after tuning, you have to be careful. My real concern is, will I be looking at a lot of problems if I leave it at, or VERY close to stock spec? Is an stock-spec FD a good idea?
(And yeah, I know there's no way in hell I'll leave it stock spec for long )
