Is this a good deal?? Trying to join the RX7 ranks!!

Hey guys. I am a Turbo Mustang guy. I have had a Turbo on my Mustang for quite a while and am really wanting an RX7 bad. I was looking for a modded RX7 and from what I have researched, this looks like a great deal. Maybe it won't be too long I will posting as an RX7 owner. Thanks in advance for the advice.

That could be a good deal if that's what you are looking for.

For sane people, that is NOT a streetable car in any sense of the word. For those on the lunatic fringe.....

Just so you know, with that large a turbo and a bridgeport, the car will idle (sort of) at about 2k rpm and won't make good power until 4-4.5k. At which point, the torque will probably jump a couple hundred lb-ft and you will launch ahead, hopefully in the general direction you intended.

IMO, that car is strictly for drag racing. Also, bridgeported motors typically last in the 20-25k mile range.

i knew that car looked familar i live down the road of this guys tires shop(Mike Smith) i have seen the car around there. i took the looks for granted thinking it was only a stocker with an exhuast and some red centercaps, till i got a little closer, my god that car sounds damn mean though. It saw it drive around the ag center it looked pretty humble , but he never got on it. But then again its all what you find streetable i guess

Dont listen to any of them , they dont have a clue !!!! , I drive an FD with similar specs (but with a LARGER turbo !!!!)and it is completely streetable ! , it idles at 1200rpm , hac a/c and power stearing and s full sound system too . It sure as hell has a lot more torque below 4000rmp than when it was stock , hell i'm sure it has more torque than ANY of the "stockers" giving you bad advice !! , I am not raggin on you guys , but most of you have no experience with what you are speaking about and are only repeating what you hear , I have been stock and now fully modded and there is no comparison . For the price , given everything is well ,and working without majour problems , that's a hell of a deal , you should try pricing the various parts and come up with a tolal , then youl really see how much went into it , I know , been there done that !!.

Thanks alot for the advise and help!! And so what if I can't or don't drive it everyday. If I was going to do that, I would probably be looking for a stocker.

That thing sure looks like it is awesome!!

It's not a bad deal, but it's a lot of mods for someone's first 7. If you don't have experience with rotaries you may want to get something a little less modified to start out with. It does look like a nice car. Good luck with whatever you decide.

That thing is one hell of a sleeper... WOW. It even has spray painted center caps to further taunt you. Cars like that keep you humble.

Yeah, that car would be hard to troubleshoot if/when you run into issues. Since, you aren't the one who built it. Or had it built.
