Hey guys, I've been a member here reading and learning all bout FD's for close to a year, and the chance for me to become a part of the family has finally arisen. I'm pretty confident I know what to look for when buying an FD as I've read numerous guides on it, but just wanted to check with the pro's first. I live very close the seller, so know I won't be buying this off eBay and will be test driving first, but here is the link anyways.

Prior secondary injector leak, stopped at 5500 but fixed and tuned up to 5500 by RX-7 Store in Ohio. Rest of range hasn't been tuned. Also is said to be running alittle rich in fuel. Haven't gotten the email back to know what psi they've been running. I was thinking of running around 13-14 psi, is that too much? Starting at $14k, any idea what the price would get to? I'm thinking that I could get it for less since I'd buy it in person and pick it up. Thanks for the opinions.

 

Hmm, why did he post it on the RX-8 section? That alone will greatly reduce the number of bids he gets on it... plus the fact there's only ONE pic of the car.
I really can't say how much more if at all he'd get over 14k. But if you look at it be sure that every mod you can eyeball, matches his mod list and try to get documenation of the rest. At the very least get proof the engine was rebuilt.

 

I would NEVER buy a car that is so highly modified. I am not sure how you would know what the issues are or how to fix them. It's not like you are going to find a factory manual to help any more.

There is the possibility that someone here could help you, but again there are so many modifications, how many here can actually help?

Also, is hightly modified car worth that much more than a stock car? That price would seem high to me because I would concider it to be a more risky car.

But keep in mind, this is coming from someone who has never modded any of his cars much.
