I'm updating because i had my transmission out for a clutch job over the weekend. My car came with the C's and i hated it, after the clutch job i reinstalled it with a heavy coat of lithium grease and didn't overtighten the bolts holding down the collar as it previously was. Its entirely different now, i feel like i can live with it. I am still looking for a weighted **** though.
Just FYI, cutting down the handle will shorten the throw slightly and also slightly increase the effort to shift, not as much as raising the fulcrum however. that is the main difference between these two styles of short throw.

I just put in a B & M short shifter, and the throws feel so short! I do think that even though the throws are shorter, you really wont shift too much faster than a stock shifter simply because the gears are slightly harder to engage. I don't mind the notchiness, but it is a little noisier than stock as well. The rubber boot from the stock shifter doesn't fit snugly around the lever of the B & M so I think some of the noise creeps through.
