I have a C's shifter, i don't like it so much, but it came with the car. In general i don't like short shifters though... I'd trade for a stock shifters + cash.

B&M is what I'd recommend. Has a great feel to it, although people have said it can feel a little notchy.

It's sort of a B&M/Gotham style vs Mazdaspeed/C's style for the most part. Part of the decision is simply personal preference, part is performance (and then there is always price). I've had Gotham and C's. I could never get the Gotham to stop rattling no matter what I did! Not everyone has this problem, but I think more people have the rattling problem with the Gotham/B&M style. I personally love the C's shifter I have now. Never a rattle for over two years, crisp, precise shifting (but more expensive).
Hope this helps a little.

C's, Mazdaspeed or Mazdatrix FTW....

I tried everythig out there

RE Amemiya(although I love his products) Basically just like stock

B&M = Good feel but very notchy, kinda hard if you are the type that want's to shift quick

I heard the Gotham one though is not as notchy as the B&M even if they share similar design

C's, Mazdaspeed & Mazdarix = smooth short throws, firm enough to feel it in gear but smooth enough to shift without much effort.

I would agree 100%!! Though I like the B&M etc. I think the Mazdaspeed is the best SS out there...HANDS DOWN

The RE-A version is basically just a cut/trimmed stock unit. You can check the comparison pictures here:

I like the way the Re-Amerniya short shifter seat lower then stock, but how do the b&m, C's, MazdaSpeed, and Gotham style compare to it?

If you look at the link I posted above, it shows some of the various shifters compared to stock. If you look at the RE-A one, the fulcrum is at the same height as stock. The top has been cut down. This doesn't shorten the throw per say, but it shortens the effort.

If you look at the RX7Store/Pettit Racing/Mazdaspeed one later in that thread, you'll see the fulcrum is MUCH higher. This is what shortens the throw of the shifter. Then you add in that the top is shorter for less effort an that gives you the combined short shifter behavior.

I have a Mazdaspeed and it feels pretty good. The only this is to remember that some Short shifters transfer transmission whine through the gear stick, mine does it sometimes, but its pretty quiet.
